Installed cams & first start. Thought I’d share.
Made a short video of my little journey when I installed my cams. This was my first time doing any work like this, So I’m just happy it started up lol I wasn’t able to get a lot of clips of the whole process but I can probably answer some questions if there is any. I also have another video up on YouTube of my car if anyone would like to see it. I have owned this car for a while but I was mainly focused on restoring the car rather then modding it these few years. Pulley and interchiller soon to come.

No one that I know of has done back to back Dyno test's. I would assume that low end is hurt and that some where in the power band they are said to add 20 hp. The aggressive rumpty rump idle is caused by a tighter lobe separation angle that will also cause a more "narrow" rpm band of power. Just speaking from experience... but they do sound pretty good on the street for sure.

im still waiting on my second tune! So far it drives like stock, a little bumpy at times but I still need to raise my idle in D.
thanks man!
it really is haha
Thanks bro! Subscribe to my channel. I love Amg’s and I’m probably going to mess around with a supercharged c63 for my next project since I’m almost done with this one.
it has to add power, I know some claim it doesn’t but just sound alone proves even a little bit extra air is getting shoved in there haha.
I know, I wish I wasn’t short on cash. The cams costed me a pretty penny. I was trying to get a group of people to do a dyno day but everyone was being lame lol the only thing I can do at this point to see if I gained any power is re-race the people I have raced before. Lol I was always neck to neck with the new camaro SS’s so if I pull now with these cams I think it would be safe to say it did something haha.

South side mentioned that they have to add power by just the sound at idle do to extra air going in...and I hope they do. But that sound is NOT extra air going into the cylinders. It is the valve over lap and primarily exhaust duration that does it. The piston is firing and right on the tip of compression the exhaust valve is slightly open during it's cycle. This is why the car gets so much louder and raspy as well. If you do a before and after compression test the new cams will be a little lower than stock cams do to bleeding off compression. The purpose of all that is to improve top end power which South side SHOULD feel in the upper power band.
Also Nitrous will respond better as well if he chooses to use that !!!

I’m not sure.. lol it’s definitely worse then before. But worth it.
good info to know! I really wish I was able to get a before and after dyno. I haven’t uploaded my second tune yet. I’m sure I will feel something when I get it uploaded! 🙂🙏👍

It's a legit question. The cams only give 20 horsepower and cost $1500 - $2000. Sounds amazing so I'm curious how much of a sacrifice to actually practicality it is. If it gets 2 mpg less not a big deal but if it's getting 5 mpg less then it's not really worth it as I drive my car a lot. I spend $300 on gas a month on my car stock.
