Ordered a Autometer obd reader and although much more money it has far more capability and support than the knock off stuff so we will see.

OK so the ELM does not work and nor does the Autometer.
The Android will "see" the dashlink but will not link up which is very strange.
Anyone have any tips on how to link our OBD to an Android.??
Also it is very difficult to even link to an I phone if it even does.

The first would pair with both my knockoff OBDII moduile ($5 type) as well as my more expensive one. The new head unit will only pair with the cheaper one. It prompts for a password, where the more expensive one does not.
With my current setup, I just need to get it to "see" the module, but not show "linked". Once I open up my Torque app I can then select it there and it works. It might help to see a screen shot of your Bluetooth setup page or even a video of you trying to pair the unit. I am happy to help if I can.
