Look like Chinese knock offs. Just a guess.

I'm sure the MBH headers are nice but $2,500? Maybe if I found a used set but I don't think they come up for sale very often.
The price point needs to be below $1,500, for US-made headers.

I have those. They are common. I installed these myself and they are 100% fine with great increased power and sound. You may need a shop to tweak something as the bends weren't perfect for me, but it was only $200 and I have no concerns long term (most likely don't even need modification like I did). I've seen similar debates on cheaper copycat headers across multiple platforms/communities since the early 90s and always found the cheaper option to be just fine in most all cases. There is always a 'best of' option and it sounds like that goes to MBH for our platform. Do that if money not an issue, but by no means assume issues with the knockoffs (well, these anyway, I can't speak to some other options).

.....however, I did order a set of MBH headers and mids for my wagon. I hate doing things twice.

That's the way I suggest going in terms of headers. You won't have issues and will save a ton. Especially on such an old car and its market value. I'm still not convinced the chillers are worth the expense, inconvenience and effort though...just seems you have a number of things you can do to your car before getting into that IMO.

I put a pair of cheap XS power headers on my acura tl-s back in the day. A year later, I was replacing them with DC sports. I learned my lesson then and if I ever put headers on my E55, it'll be MBH.
not sure if you're part of the E55 facebook group, but recylclers are giving top dollar for our cats right now. I think i saw somewhere from $12-$1,500 for both sets. makes those quality headers much more palatable

I'm going to do a DIY interchiller. I saw a video of one (genuine interchiller install), on an E55, on youtube. Amazing power gains, throughout the RPM range.
I know a pulley and tune are easier mods but I will do them last, if at all.
This is the best car I've owned, by far. I've put 3,000 miles on it since buying it in early October 2020. It was a pooch when I got it. I changed the spark plugs,
transmission fluid 3X, transmission 13-pin connector, transmission filter, oil and filter, upper radiator hose, gas filter, air filters, IAT sensor, front brake rotors
(Zimmerman), w/ EBC red pads, brake fluid and power steering fluid flush. Both belts, belt tensioners, and two pulleys.
The one change that made the most difference was installing a Bosch 010 intercooler pump (it had an 010 pump in it but it was dead). The car has been
running great ever since.
In the Spring, I will be installing Black-Series engine mounts, and a new Lemforder transmission mount. I already bought them.
I think the long tubes and interchiller will add at least 80HP. That will be plenty, for me.

lol nevermind there is a thread like two down from this one. but all that makes me do is wonder what's on the other end of this gig. if a dude will pay $1200 for stock cats, is he selling them in turn to a recycler for $2k or more? I kinda want in on the buying selling over a using the money for a set of LTs.

Thank you to those people who like supporting American made products. We could triple our profits if I had our parts made in China. To be honest though, I would rather close down MBH for good than have our headers and downpipes made anywhere else other than in house here in Phoenix AZ. MBH is not about being as profitable as we can, we are about building the best parts we can as well as standing behind what we build for as long as you as long as you or the next guy owns your car.

Just saw these same exact headers installed on 'All girls garage' season 9 episode two. Theirs went right in without any real issue. Was neat to see as they did 80mm pulley, motor mounts and spark plugs at same time (and tune). Was on an 2006 E55
