Safe to drive with bad cam adjusters?
I’m currently waiting on my cam adjuster plates replacements from 63Motorsports but need to drive the car for work, have there been any catastrophic failure due to these adjusters? Noise is only on startup still for about 1-2 seconds

It's really just a start up issue. I had bad cam adjuster rattle for months and replaced my plates with the black hardened plates from 63Motorsports. My cams were ok. Cam damage is more likely from the hydraulic lifters sticking in the heads. I had $10k worth of work done to my 09 E63 - adjuster plates, Black Series lifter cups, rebuilt intake manifold from corrosion to the magnesium IM pieces, water pump, new PCV valve to stem oil burn at start up, etc...Note that I will be adding an oil catch can as the crank pressures are high with the M156 and tend to blow out the PCV valve which will allow oil to enter into the IM.
