07-09 E63 Front Bumper

Is it still possible to purchase the facelifted front bumper for the W211 bare from MB? Not sure because I don't know the correct part number for it, the googleable online "EPC" has generic pictures for all bumpers. And bout 2 hrs away from my 211 to look for the part number on the actual bumper.

Thanks.

EPC shows eight part numbers for the post facelift E63 and five show up as still available. Differences will be parking sensors, headlight washers, and such. If you are doing a direct replacement - as compared to retrofitting to another car, provide the VIN and i can tell you the specific correct one for the car.

I bought a new front bumper cover for my 09 E63 from MB in Aug 2020 (no aftermarket parts for me....). Part # 211 885 41 25 for the Front Bumper Cover. My car has Parktronic but not Distronic and headlight washers. I recall there was a $175 or so Core Charge for the bumper cover... I also bought all new mounting hardware, new chrome strips on the corners of the bumper cover, a new front hood grille, new lower center mesh grille and side surrounds for the fog lights, new fog lights, new Hella headlights for a full front end refinish. My headlights and fog lights had road rash and the headlights were starting to get hazy. After the body shop painted the bumper cover and did the full install with all the new parts, I had PPF installed on the bumper cover and I bought new Lamin-X film specifically for the W211 E63 headlight and fog light lenses to protect them from rocks and fading. This was an expensive facelift, but made the front look so nice and fresh. The only parts that I carried over from the original bumper were the Parktronic sensors and headlight washer "doors". I was going to replace the headlights anyway and you have to remove the bumper cover to replace the headlights, so that was the impetus to do the whole front end refresh.

Nice to here! Will be doing exactly what you did but will be carrying over the chrome strips if i can remove without breaking, fogs, sides around fogs, and parking sensors. Other than that new everything just as you did and PPF once painted! Also new hood. For the headlights was there a level sensor attached to them?

Thanks! Great to hear! googled that part number when @W126AMG posted and still available! Gonna be a sad day when mb starts discounting more/major parts for this platform. Especially things you can get aftermarket

Off topic but do you know how the leveling headlights work? Is there a level sensor on them like the airmatic? Or is leveling done electronically by reading the height thru the computer from the airmatic level?

Yes to the level system I have highlighted in your question. It is a simple sensor connected to the front sway bar.

As a reference point on parts cost from Aug 2020 - I bought all of these from Mercedes Genuine Parts for the lowest pricing:

Headlights 211 820 53 61 and 211 820 54 61 bought off eBay

MB Hood grille I bought off eBay 211 880 17 83

Fog lights and surrounds I bought from Japan of all places on Japan Yahoo for a very low price - about $150 plus shipping for NOS MB fogs and the plastic surround panels. Don't forget to replace the turn signal bulbs in the bumper cover while the cover is being replaced.

2006 E55 AMG
I'm going to resurrect this thread.
I'm in a process of doing a facelift on my 06 E55 to E63 front end. I got all of the parts from a MB dealer but I ran into a problem. One on the outer grills came from a dealer as a mesh, the other came as a solid plastic (like it came from a compatible model but not from E63).
You can see the pictures below of what I'm talking about.

Dealer said that the parts are from E63:
2118851753
2118851853
Can anyone confirm that these are the correct part numbers?

Thanks

Part numbers are correct. The left side is closed off as the air suspension compressor is on that side. The right side is an open grille as the oil cooler is in that area so more air flow is provided.

Interesting to see as the CLS has open outer grills, also on the air compressor side
