m113k injectors upgrade inquiry for information
Well, i know there are quite a few of those out there based on the m113k engine, however i have a few questions with regards to the reliability of the available upgrade options and injector duty cycle if someone measured it.
i posted this on the S55 page put since there is not many who mods there S55 , but e55 is very popular for modding + this question applies to all m113k ...
the three available options is Bosch 550cc , Bosch 630cc and the Mercedes SLR blue injectors. and of course, the stock injectors.
my questions for those of you who used any of the above mentioned injector.
- which one you are using?
- how long you have it on your car?
- what are your mods also WHP if known?
- did you tune the car after replacing (Mainely i am asking the guys who uses the SLR injectors)?
- any difference in drivability?
- any injector duty cycle information (percentage ) you have on full throttle ?
- AFR on full throttle?
- from your experience, do you recommend the set you have?

Short answer - Yes.
I bought my E55 with 140K miles in stock condition, and with a lot of deferred maintenance. I wanted to replace the injectors as a service due to age/mileage, and since I knew I was doing a pulley + tune, it made sense to upgrade to larger ones. Considering the M113K has been around for over 20 years, I didn't spend a lot of time worrying about which injector to use. There's literally hundreds, if not thousands of folks before us who have done this, tested this, posted about this, and discussed ad nauseam. Based on everything I read (as you've been doing) I felt the 550s were the most reliable and economical injector upgrade for the platform, and it has a very predictable outcome. I would say, unless you're doing something much smaller than a 77mm pulley, the 550cc injectors would be a very adequate upgrade. Besides FI upgrade, consider beefing up your fuel pump relay, and inspecting the relay harness, and fuel pump plugs and harnesses for overheating.
