The Official W211 Wheel Thread: Post Pics
1 Attachment(s)
I know this has been done several times on this site, but I would like to get a thead going of W211's with various wheel pictures. I am looking at purchasing some wheels for my E55, and I think it would be really nice to have one thread with all the pictures in one instead of members saying, "here, go to this link, that link, etc."
So, I'll start by posting pics of the cars I've found so far on this site. Thanks to the owners of the cars for posting up pics in the first place, you all have beautiful cars. Hopefully, we can get enough response to make this a sticky here. I think this would be very helpful for other W211 owners on what various wheels/sizes/finishes looks like on the cars. |

Great thread :y
Most of the good ones are already shown. Here are a few that I haven't seen listed yet. HRE 847s, BRAV's Angstroms, and some more obscure wheels. The last set of wheels by Domanig are FUGLY, but the flares look nice. |

One last one which I don't know what they are, but they are on REJOE's E-Class.

Anyone wanna buy me a set of Carlsson UL's in 19's???
|
i may be biased by it seems the 547r's (mine) and the brabus look like they belong. most others dont seem to "fit". just my 2c though.

I personally feel that the HRE 547R wheel does not have enough body to it and looks to light on the E55. Now, the HRE 441R and the 448R wheels have more body to them and would be my choice if I were going to use an HRE wheel.
After seeing all the different combinations I still feel the 19" "Maya" STM, Graphite Polished version of that wheel, would be my choice. :) - Bob |

People please do me a favor and start throwing out rims that would look nice on our beloved W211 that aren't on this thread. I am in the market for new rims and would like your opinion. :y thanks. I was thinking about black centered LM's or the OZ SL 3 piece forged...not sure. Just throw out ideas please... :) |
are youtalking about BBS LMs??! Those would look money but I'd keep the silver center...also consider the s65 wheels, especially if you went back to the amg kit

wheels for racing
would those "bling" style wheels would work for racing events??? I have a bone stock '04 E55. I raced it in 5 autocross events last year and now I'm ready to get an extra set of rims/tires specifically for autocross and track events. Any advice on dimensions? Should I stick to the OEM dimensions? I doubt I could find a better wheel size than what all the engineers at AMG thought works best. However, it would be my chance to break away from my mild mannered look and throw on some larger bling-style wheels for the race events.
|
Yeah I also think the 65 wheels are the only way to go...but check out this white '03 E55. It's stock but the interrior...well...it speaks for itslef :v

I have an 04 E55. I am thinking about buying the 19" HRE's that "Dr. Chill" has on his car. However, I live in NY and I am concerned that I will bend the rims. Anyone that could give me some feedback on how easily the 19" rims bend would be appreciated. What is the biggest size tire that will fit in the wheel well with the 19" rim ? I am looking to cushion the rim.

I still think the Kinesis line is worth a hard look... they definitely aren't that typical or common... I love mine, custom matched silver on silver...
I looked at a lot of combinations... dreamt of HREs, almost got them, then saw these Kinesis'. They don't scream bling and appear to belong and look timeless... and yet have a wildness to them when you see them up close. :) Loren http://members.aol.com/lorenrose/Images/kinesis.jpg http://members.aol.com/lorenrose/Images/kinesis2.jpg |

My WALD lip got ripped in half when my mom was drivin the car around for 2 weeks while I was in Denmark training with my fellow Marines...She told me she went over those little parking concrete blocks, and when she was backing out, the lip got caught and just ripped in half...To tell you the truth, I was wanting to back to the AMG because I thought it looked more aggressive and I was beginning to want that look again. I am waiting on some new add-on's for the car. They should be in real soon... |

If you are into show go 20's (but your performance will suffer) If you want some show without hurting performance go with 19's. I'm running 245/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 out back. |

I'm in the same boat and you beat me to the punch on starting this thread. Attached are the rims I have. The black caps in the wheel pic pop on and off. I kinda like having it that way since every time I put them on/take them off, people have asked me if I got a new set of wheels. They are staggered 19" with 8.5 in front and 9.5 in rear.
I am looking to possibly pick up a new set of wheels. Checking to see if I can find something better in the 400 per wheel range. Now, before I get brow beaten by the people with the 3000 per wheel, forged titanium allow , 2 lb, boost your 0-60 to 2 seconds flat, reaches out and scratches your balls before you get in the car wheels, I am not gonna spend that kind of money yet. Other things to buy right now. Without hijacking your thread, if you want, I'll post pics of the wheels I find that I think are worth having others chime in on. Again, no worries if you are in the market for those "ball scratching" rims and you wanted to keep this thread at that level. Let me know. |

Looking to get a pair of wheels and tires but unsure if I want the Euro63's or the Forgestar F14's for my black 09 E63. Should I go with 19" or 20" wheel, SS or Black Matte Finish?
|
Here are few pictures of my wheels, 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 in the rear. the true width is 9" in the front and 10" in the rear, the wheel manufacturer measures from the inside on the bead or lip. These wheels are wrapped in 245/35-19 and 275/30-19. I love these wheels, and so do most others E55 and E63 owners.

those Forgestars look SWEET on your car! I've got the same finish in 18" sitting in my garage to put on my W208 CLK 55. Thank you sir!! - just remember the hubcentric rings and new bolts![/quote]
Well I ordered my new tires from Disount Tire this morning. the wheels came with the hubcentric rings and the same center caps you have. my dealer (Modbargains.com) told me that the wheels were supposed to be used with the factory wheel bolts - do I need to order some different lug bolts?!? thanks for any info you might have! |
There's some chatter going on in the 211AMG forum right now about it - apparently you should have "cone" or "conical" seated lug bolts v the factory which are "ball" seated. I went ahead and ordered a new set (3 sets actually, because I got the first size wrong, the second set are RAD german bolts but they're silver colored and then I got the bright idea to order black ones to see how that would look). Each set is about 35.00 dollars plus shipping. I'm running the factory ones right now but the new ones go on next week (when I get home from the business trip on now). Supposedly, there's a possibility of the bolts coming loose and a member (with a different brand of wheels) sheared one of his off when he used stock instead of cone (and had problems with other ones coming loose). For 35.00, I'm not messing with it or taking the chance. Hope this helps.
|
Does anyone have the same wheels as me, but without lips & 20"???
I just bought my wife an E550W4M & am thinking about doing these wheels, but i wanna see how they look. Pics anyone? |

Hot dayum BT! By chance does your 55k double as your dining table? She is clean! The curse of the black cars - they have to be clean and swirl free (really swirl minimized) to look good:X My neighbors think I'm certifiable, especially since I'm now washing her in the rain after I read a thread about it:rolf: |

thanks for the info! yeah I looked at the wheels and they are "cone seat" and pulled one of my lugs and its "ball seat" so I called Discount Tire back up and the guy new exactly what I was talking about - he has the right cone seat bolts for my car in stock for $60 a set, so I told him to add it to my order (special ordered a set of Hankook Ventus V12's, hearing lots of good feedback on them). I know I coulda got them a bit cheaper on fleabay, but I wanted to insure I got the exact right size with no hassles, and Discount Tire has been good to me (hell I've spent probably 10 grand there in the last 10 years!) |

Why do the wagons have those ugly ass taillights? I reckon with the sedan taillights, it'd be much more appealing. But either way, that wagon must be a BEAST with the K2.

I got the badge on after a little bit of work. That sucker fits tight! It's a tiny bit twisted counter-clockwise, but I'm afraid to try and reposition it because I somehow managed to snap a small piece of plastic off the bottom while trying to lock it. :smash: |

Do you guys have any problems with rubbing? What's the offsets? I'm trying to get a set of wheels. 8.5x20 and 10x20 with 35ET and they say they won't fit. And they say I can't return them if they don't. So I'm trying to get the opinion of someone who has done it. Thanks for you time guys! |

Nice :y |
Some beastly rides as of late! I need to get some wheels again soon... :(
|
|
I have been looking at wheels for the past month and I can't find the right ones. My favourite are the ADV10 but $6K is just ridiculos for rims. I was looking at Advan, Weds Sport and Rota but they just don't have the right staggered set up that I'm looking for. I'd like to get 18X9 or 9.5 for the front and 18X10 or 10.5 in the back. Deep concave rims with 5 or 10 spokes!
I have only seen one E55/63 that has the ADV10 rims on and they look great. Any suggestion will be great. |
Go with volks.
|
I looked at a couple Rays models but all the ones that I like come in anything but 5X112!
|
What's your price range? HRE, CCW, Forgestar, DPE, BBS and many others make great looking wheels for our cars.
|
My price range is $2000 without tires. I looked at all the wheels available from the offical MB tuners and I can't find anything that I like. I also loked at the new american luxury wheel companies, still nothing in my price range. The ADV10 is an awesome wheel but way over priced. My favourite are the wedssport TC105N, too bad they are 5X114.3 bolt pattern.

Those Vossens are incredible, although the car would look much sharper with an E63 front end, it would compliment the wheels more. They're very sharp looking wheels, very edgy and with a roundish front it does seem a little out of place.

yeah they're CLS/SL offsets. :y it rubbed in the front on hard turns and there is slight rubbing in the rear when I have 3+ passengers when going over bumps in the road. Im running 225/35/20 in the front and 245/35/20 in the rear |
So I'm guessing you had to roll them to get the running to stop

This was the setup for a E55 owner that raced on the track a lot. He said there was no rubbing in sport mode 2 and the car was very balanced in the turns.

More shots of my square wheel setup. Tires are staggered (255F/285R).
Ideally, I would like to run 275/35-18 all around so that it behaves more balanced (mostly to reduce understeer on turn in). :) Attachment 379688 Attachment 379689 Attachment 379690 |

I agree - love the wheels in your sig !! (what are / were they?) Love the new set-up as well, but not a fan of tires that have less tread width than the wheel. Anyone know who rolls fenders in the LA area ?? I'm getting too much rub on bigger bumps with my new rear tires. TIA |
I agree too. The style of the wheels and the rest of the car is sick no doubt, but the stretched tire and wheel sticking out of the fender looks like you wish you had a 240sx beater. It's all good though... You're not the only one who likes that look at this time.

I like the old setup better too. But it's your car, so who cares what we think ;)

Hi, first of all I would like to use this occasion for introducing myself. My name is Franz, I live in germany and my ride is an AMG E63T (S211). The car is equipped with the AMG driver's package (300 km/h) because we don't have a speedlimit on german autobahn:wootrock:... OK, sorry for that...;). The wheels I am running on the car are AMG Style IV:
Front 8,5J x 19 offset 30 (A 211 400 12 02) + 10mm spacer / tyre Conti SC2 245/35-19 Back 9,5J x 19 offset 31 (A 211 400 14 02) / tyre Conti SC2 275/30-19 Next project is to add the XY-Style front lip. I am already in contact with gary@suvneer and I hope to get confirmation next week that I will get a technical approval for it here in germany. So I hope I can order it soon... |

I think they paintes them. 500$ painted and repaired. They had major curb rash from previous owner.
So bad that it cost me 2 tires cause it would deflate. I was worried they would look small, but they look bad ass. Just need to matte black the chrome with some 3M and its a hit. |

hey fromm3 when you pulled your rear QP, did you completely flatten out that lip? or is there still a noticeable fold between
edit: you need 5-10 mm spacers for the rear! :) |

You can't go wrong with this winning combo. Your W211 looks great. I also bought my wheels from Ray a while back, really cool guy to deal with too. I'm running a sqaured 19x9.5 setup though with spacers and 90mm stud conversion as my winter setup. Attachment 378008 Attachment 378009 |

Question for the aggressive fitment guys - FromM3toE55, DarkieJohn, 09W211 feel free to weigh in here. - Sorry in advance if this is not the correct forum. I didn't want to start a new thread on an old topic.
I'm about to lay some lumber on a custom made set of SSR's. I have two options for the rear to get the 92mm step lip I'm trying to accomplish. Both fall into a 'gray area' of body modifications. I'm trying to avoid having to pull the rear fenders. I'm going with 19's and lowering the car after the wheels are on. My choices for the rear are 10" wide with a 37 offset, or 10.5" with a 43 offset. Anyone know which is less likely to be a problem with a stock body 08 E63? The extra 1/2" on the 10.5 is all on the inside with that offset, so it may allow me to pull the tire in a little more than the 10. Any thoughts or advice you guys could give me would be much appreciated. No refunds for custom builds, so I want to make the right decision. |
Vossen CV7s always a great choice for the E55 AMG. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8501/8...f9c0a2f1_b.jpg |

Will a 45mm or 35 mm offset work best?

I am about to order some wheels. 2008 e350 current set up is 18*8 up front 18*9 in back.
I'll be going to 18*8.5 up front and 18*9.5 in back. I dont want my wheels too far in or sticking way out either.. is a 35mm or 45mm offset going to work best? I think the factory offset is 38mm. below is a current pic. without the upgraded wheels. I am going to order from http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/index.php any help? |
The caps are a fantastic touch! What lip is that btw?

Havent logged on here since 2008... but just picked up a used E63, and put some wheels on it this weekend. 20" Stance SC6 in Grey. Went with 285/30 on 10" rear and 245/30 on 8.5" front.... wish i did a 35 on the front tire, its a bit too low profile for my taste. Just order H&R 10mm spacer for front, i think it needs to come out a bit.

I think the factory offset is 38mm. below is a current pic. without the upgraded wheels. I am going to order from http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/index.php any help? |
How do i post a pic lol.im so new to this guy's help please !!

I'll keep the alabaster white theme going... Spent some time decontaminating my paint this weekend. First started with Auto Finesse Iron Out, and then spent some time with a Nanoskin Scrub pad... Car looks bright white again. Next up is a two stage polish, sealant, glaze, and wax

Just double checking, but a 19x9 et35 front should clear the brakes right? Rotiform SNA's.

For the rest of you wheel masters: What offset do you suggest for the wagons? I'm thinking 19x9.5 F and 19x10 or possibly 19x11 out back. Do 11' fit? What setup do you suggest? What offset front and rear? What tire do you suggest? Any advice for this NOOB is appreciated! Great looking cars in here guys...Keep up the good work. |
I'm not sure a 9.5" will fit up front
|
9 in front and 10.5 in the rear is about the widest you are going to be able to fit on this chassis.
And even still you'll want to roll both front and rear fenders. |

I'm about to order a set of wheels for wagon. I've got a friend that is a master fender roller, he can pull too if neccessary, but I'd prefer not to pull to the point of getting a whack looking fender. I'm ordering 19's and considering going 9" front and 11" back (This wheel manufacturer only does whole inch increments). I prefer a meaty tire setup vs a stretched look and I'd like to get AT LEAST a 285 if not a 295 under the car (I'm thinking: 255/35R19 Front & 295/30R19 Rear Bridgestone Pole Positions). So my question is this, can it work? If so, what offset would be right? Any and all advice is appreciated. |
keep them comming!! this is better than what wheels shops offer!

Im planning on switching to those soon Had the Conti DWS before. The A/S 3 are smoother and quieter than the Conti (although not quite as nice a ride as the PSS...lol). Luke from tire rack said they would not be good in serious snow, but I wouldn't take a 550hp rwd car out in heavy snow:) Added benefit is that I was told they would be less prone to pothole damage. My DWS popped frequently. Luke even mentioned Conti released a redesign to help with the issue because so many people were complaining. He still reccomended going with the Michelins. There more expensive, but I am very happy I bite the bullet. |

I had them in 20 inch and they look great. I had to buy 3 sets over a year though because they continued to crack. I spoke to Niche and they offered no help other than "that should not happen". I ended up removing them and getting a different set and going with 19's. The 20's look great but the rubber band tires kill them. I literally drove 5 miles and one cracked...with the rep in the car! Completely understand that, but..... for the most part almost every aftermarket wheel I see the lip sticks out from the tire (not like any factory wheel does). It would seem if you took a really hard turn the lip of the wheel would actually hit the ground due to the tire flexing under it. I am all for getting wheels, but that keeps me from doing it. Not all people get wider rims than they (need, should have??????). Trying to understand thats all. Makes me wiser :)
I don't like the stretched look neither but unfortunately I like to buy parts used to save money. this set of HRE above has a 10.5 rear with 275 tires and if I could I would fit wider tires but due to aggressive offset if I go any bigger it would rub. my other set up the 360forged has 10 rear with 285 tires and it fits the same but it has the proper meaty look like stock. it all depends on offset... my vossen set up is also a 10.5 rear but I can fit 285 / 295 even 305s. |

Something to keep in mind is vehicle performance in cornering when tires are stretched. And of course safety when too much stretched. |

Thx! 20x10 33ET 20x11 28ET WARNING! This will rub unless you pull and stretch your fenders…OR you buy a camber kit. I also installed a camber kit originally before any fender work in order to run the set up. The camber was way to aggressive and i went through tires fast(But no rub) So i went ahead and did fender work and re-adjusted camber and alignment back to stock with no issues. Please feel free to ask any questions… No secrets here :) |
I forgot to mention that after I rolled/pull/stretched the fenders i had even more space than I anticipated. Which allowed me to run a 10mm spacer to flush the rear wheels nicely to the fenders.

I am keeping the OEM wheels, my friend is buying the gfg's and I'm buying something else. Not sure on offset they were made for my car, tires are to tall in the front 245/35/20 rears are 275/30/20 I believe.

Advice on tires for 2007 E-350 4-Matic 245/40/R18 vs. 245/45/R18
I need suggestion on tires which I will be replacing on 2007 E-350 4-Matic which currently has Continental ContiPro 245/40/R18
I am thinking of going with 245/45/R18 Michelin X-Ice. This tire is a little taller 40 vs. 45 and I want to raise my car a little bit. Also I am getting a very good deal on these brand new tires which has excellent reviews on snow/ice. Any suggestion or concerns if I go with 245/45/R18 ; 100 H instead of OEM ? People talk about strain on 4-Matic transmission and odometer not being accurate if your replacement is not the OEM specifications. Are these things true ? |

Yes I have seen this, but just states the results of running various tire sizes not the rim widths using these tires. but I found what I needed here.

Hey guys, breaking my cherry here. Just joined and picked up my 2006 E55 and ordered my wheels & Tires yesterday. I know they will work for the most part, but have a few questions...below are the wheel specs
Stock suspension. STR 601 wheels (BBS LM Reps). Front 19x8.5. ET30 running a Sumitomo HTRZ II 245/35/19. Rear 19x10. ET 32 running the same tire in a 275/30/19. I dont plan on lowing much, maybe links down the road?? My question is...Will I clear the front caliper with this setup without spacers. The sales guy told me it would be VERY close. Paying only $1500 for the whole set up shipped to me door, I was willing to roll the dice. I wanted to see if I will deff need spacers. Any input? |

Any close-up angled pics of the wheels / stance? got 12mm spacers up front and the offset is now perfect BUT I miscalculated the tire size. :smash: running 235 275 so now ill have to ride extra low to cover up my fk up... I hate to run too low but got no choice until these tires are done. ill post some once I get a chance to play with my lowering module. she is going to be slammed :y |

Japan Racing JR10 8,5x19 offset35 with 10mm spacers to offset 25 (245-35-19) 11x19 offset30 (275-30-19) I don´t like the front wheels... not enough stretch and the fitment is not very good looking. Offset help
I picked up an 06' 211 E55 last year and I'm now planning on running new wheels. I'm looking at Vossen (I haven't decided on which yet, either VFS 1's or CV1'S) in a 20x9 f and 20x10.5 r and plan to lower on links. My concern is offset. I don't want to modify the fenders (rolling/shaving) but also don't want any rubbing. I was thinking 32-35 offset with 245/30 in the front and 40-42 offset with 285/25 in the rear (where I am most concerned). Does anyone think it would be a stretch to have this setup with no rubbing after being lowered with no fender modification? Anyone running these wheels with a similar setup while lowered? Any issues? Any suggestions on a better setup to avoid the aforementioned concerns? Thanks everyone in advance for any advisement.

seems like everyone is running 19s or 20s on the e55. Anyone running aftermarket 18s that look decent on the e55?

^
If you or anyone (generally speaking) were to run 18's, I personally would make sure that the stance is wide to make it really stand out. Lowered W211 with aggressive 18's would be a definite head turner. I've seen a few out here in SoCal who aren't on the forums (well... at least I've never seen them here). |
yeah, of course.

I have a 2008 E63 AMG. Came with chrome wheels from the dealer, they're peeling and cracking pretty bad. 245/40/R18 in the front and 265/35/R18 in the rear. Looking for OEM set that i can just put on with no modifications or something aftermarket for a decent price, nothing TOO crazy since i dont really drive it that much.

Has anyone run a 19x10 with an et in the high 40s for the rear? I remember reading somewhere that a couple guys were maybe running low 40s iirc. I'm looking at CLS 63 wheels which are 19x10 et47. Cheers |

Another person is DaarthVader, he's running a 20x11 with a 295/25/20. You may want to PM them for help and/or info on offsets with 20's. |

LoL. Thanks bro. It's really difficult to show the "flush-ness" on a camera phone. It doesn't do justice. I'll take better ones of the rear wheels when i get a chance. |

Could we make it a policy to include your offset when listing wheel specs? Diameter and width is nice, but width really means nothing without knowing the offset of the wheels. As someone new to the platform that will be looking for some wheels come springtime, it would be really helpful.

What kind of wheels are those & what's the sizing? Looks perfect
The company is the manufacturer for many reputable brands. 19x8.5 19x10 offsets: really low  :y Lower than the majority on here. But not as extreme as those to "have" to pull and/or shave their fenders. http://i64.tinypic.com/303cwm9.jpg What I really wanted to do was... have the stance of my W211 sit like my former W208. http://i64.tinypic.com/15gtks6.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/6yljpf.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2ps0jdl.jpg Hard to tell based on the pics, but the lip of the rear wheels past the fenders by almost 2 inches. Descent tire stretch and all. But because of the traction our W211's require (due to the power), it's not wise to do that same setup. However, on a W208, it was perfect. |
