Accelerator and Brake pedal
Why do I see some 05 e55's have the metal or racing brake and acclerator pedals and some are just the stock black ones.I saw one for sale on ebay with metal petals and the dealer said it came like that from the factory. Is this true and what option was that?
|
I would also like to find out. Some of the people on this forum have said that their cars came with the metal pedals. I test drove one, without any options, a month ago and the pedals had black rubber covers. I suppose there is an option that includes them, but so far it is a mystery.

Where do you think we can buy them
|
formymercedes has them. i have there AMG set on my car....check sig. for links to pics.
|
Thanks for the info. Are they real amg and what is the cost.Did the dealer install them?
|
Highly doubt they are genuine AMG, but still look nice if you ask me. As for the install, I did it myself. To install, I removed the existing rubber pads, clamped the new pedals and drilled the holes to mount. The pedals are $69 for the set (gas, brake, emer. brake, and dead pedal(foot rest))

Any idea were I get the original ones from?
|
I'd start out with an MB dealer and go from there. If you can get a part number, you can look elsewhere.

However, you can also ask for the pedals for the R171 SLK (gas and brake) and R230 SL (parking brake), all of which can be ordered through the dealer.

Do the pedals look like the SL55 pedals? If its not too much trouble could you snap a pic of them and post for me? |

Hi DRCrowder, is the parking brake cover the same style as the gas and brake covers ie with round studs or are they oval, i can't quite tell from the pic in your link.
If they are round can you give me the part number off it, should just pull off then slip back on. Would be very grateful indeed. If they're oval studs then don't go to the trouble or getting the part number i'm only after the round stud version. Thanks!! |
AMG does make them. Talk to parts at the stealership? Or buy aftermarket as there are lots of them out there. Personally, I'd want a matched set vs. mix-and-match from other MBZ cars....
|
Yeah unfortunately the part people in UK are useless!! And I really want that OEM part as it matches with the other pedal cover already in my car. So, I would appreciate it if anyone with the OEM parking brake pedal cover would take a look and let me know the part number. Thanks again in advance! :D

pedals
I ordered 2 '05 E55 from my dealer. When the first came in 11/04, it had the regular black pedals. When the second came in 2/05, it had the metal pedals. I immediately requested the pedals be changed on the first car, and my dealer complied with no hassel. I suggest that you call the dealer, and if you have to MB North America.

Hi ENDSMTG, i don't have an E55 but i've heard thee ebrake pedal cover on it fits my model and i would like that pedal cover, ive rang dealerships and they ask me for the vin number of the car etc etc and hence i get nowhere, so all im looking for is the part number so I can order it. Just waiting for someone to help me out and take off their pedal cover and let me know what the part number is, believe it or not i've been trying to get that part number for around a month now, trawling all the websites, ringing up dealerships, lol, i'll get it in the end. The pedal only costs about $10-15 but its getting the part number thats proving to be a mission! :D
