How to turn off 2010 E63 Hill Assist?
This hill assist feature is annoying me lately. I hit the gas and the car pauses waiting to release the brakes before going. I am way to performance oriented to put up with it. Has anyone figured it out? I searched online and couldn't find the answer.

Strange. I have a hard time getting my '10 hill assist to work most of the time. But I figure I don't need the function anyway.

hill assist doesn't automatically activate, you have to actively engage it by double tapping on the brake. I don't know what you're doing to engage the system, so if you're so eager to get off the line, stop doing what you're doing or do it differently.....

I live in the mountains and all you have to do is simply press down the pedal and it stays down. Yes I am eager to get off the line

Then something is wrong with your car. You should have it checked out. i go in and out of ramps everyday at work and usually have to stop on an incline and I've never had it activate working the brake in a normal fashion.

To engage it, do you double tap the brake pedal while fully depressed, or will any double tapping work?

Press firmly on brake, slight release of the brake then press down again. When you do the slight release middle step, important not to fully disengage or let up on the brake too much. Its almost a slight pump of the brake. Hard to explain. you'll see the "Hold" sign in your information screen in the middle of the dash once its engaged.

its not so linear, its a bit of a feel thing to get it engaged.

I don't think you can disable it. But you can disengage it earlier if you gas more. The car won't disengage hill-assist until the car has enough momentum and moves forward. My 07 S550 holds it steady for 2 seconds and releases automatically. If I desire to, I gas more and it disengages.
To activate on my s-class, I hold the brake pedal down all the way after initially braking to a stop. Its like an invisible kick-down button on the pedal as oppose to physically pressing down on the accelerator's pedal.
