its amazing how much more it costs to operate a new car versus keeping my 2007 on the road (i basically consider depreciation and work needed).
i keep wondering if i am going to like the 5.5tt better than the 6.2L. i am worried about turbo-lag. i get that the 5.5tt is faster (especially accelerating on the highway) but i do like off-the-line acceleration and wonder if the 6.2L is more explosive than the 5.5tt.

You are correct guy, and there is a huge following of N/A motor fans, getting a new one, could be an opportunity. The blown motors are nice, but the N/A machines are raw.
Sorry guys, while I agree with you in principle, there is no way a dealer will let that car go for 60-70k. New car, never titled, realistically best they are gonna be willing to do is 80K. Of course, I hope to be proven wrong.
Best of luck to OP getting a great deal on the car.

Yeah, I still remember that 2010 summer trunk $$ madness.
By the way, make sure you run the vin# to check if the M156 engine is the newer batch without the head bolts issue. Of course, it wouldn't matter if you plan to dump the car before the warranty runs out.

I had my vin# checked by another forum member who has the access to the StarTek(sp) system. Anyway, you look for the engine number. Before a certain engine number, the old head bolts are used. After that number, new head bolts are used. I don't remember that cut-off number off my head, but it's all over the place on one of those sticky posts at the top of every c-class AMG forum section.

Congrats again on the new ride but fill me in on what kind of deal you got. I'm in the market for either a 2011 or 2012 and want to know what the market is getting for them.
Thank you, sir
