New E63/CL63 5.5 BiTurbo Airboxes
Does anyone know how to remove the cover from the new 5.5 BiTurbo air box
to drop in K&N filters?
There are no visible screws in the lid to remove like in the 6.2 and I don't want to force the lid in any way in case I break something!

1. Remove the two gray plastic turbo tube covers.
2. Remove the CF center engine cover by carefully lifting the corners and then front.
3. Use a 7mm or 9/32 nut driver to loosen the hose clamp on the turbo side of the air box
4. Remove the electrical clip at the rear of the port side (USA driver’s side) box by pushing the release clip outward then depressing the tab…if you’ve done it correctly the connection will separate easily.
5. Lift out the air box. It is connected to the motor with two 25mm rubber grommets and will pop right out with firm upward pressure.
6. There are four t25 screws at the bottom of the air box…loosen them completely…they will go out about 5/8 inch (15mm)…do not remove them completely from the air box cover.
7. The air box can now be separated…it is often stuck together by the rubber seal on the air filter…use firm pressure and the two halves separate easily.
8. The starboard (right USA passenger side) box electrical connector is at the front of the air box…otherwise everything is the same.
