2011 E63 Harwire Radar Detector

How do you remove the center console by the shifter to get to the ashtray/ligher? Been searching around and I don't see anything specific to this modle. If someone can help I can post a detailed DIY.

Looked there, but no luck.

I'm wanting to do the same. Wire in my V1.

Yes I looked there as well but did not see how to remove dash center console part that goes over the gear **** that gives access to removing the ashtray and lighter. With the Escort 9500ix you need to tap into the cig lighter so you can still wire the mute switch just right of your knee on the left side of the console. This is how I wired it before in my C55.

Andy, i think you can wire the V1 to the 12v outlet in the glove box. I just saw a diy in here somewhere. That wont work for me due to the remote mute switch.

I want to wire it into the overhead console. I'll be using the concealed remote display and will also go with the remote volume. Trying to come up with a real clean install. Will probably put it in the ash tray so I can cover it when required. Once I figure that out I'm putting in the laser intercepted quad system with all 4 heads up front.

Figured out part of it.

Slide open ash tray, grab a hold of the trim with both hands/fingers and pull up firmly but carefully it will snap out then pull out toward front of car.

No, they stay attached. You just unclip the wire harness. I will take more detailed pictures of this hardwire installation on the day I acutally do it.
