Paint Correction on my beast.... WOW!
Hello all, Just wanted to hop on the forums and show you all and amazing detail I had done to my car this past week. A friend of mine been detailing for a while and has started and new business named OCD Detaling.... and let me tell you, the name is very suiting. His love for cars and attention to detail is truly OCD.
I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but either through car washes being preformed whit non-micro fiber towels or a bad detailing job in the past, my car had a tremendous amount of swirls and scratched in the paint. Seeing as how my friend was starting up his business, I decided to have him preform a full paint correction on my car. I could not be happier with the results!
I could go on and on about how amazing the car has turned out but I am going to let the pictures tell the story. Actually, even these pictures don't do the detail justice, the car looks almost better than when I picked it up; no joke.
Swirls for days
Same panel after the compound process
Some side by side comparisons
And some sun shots, it looks like a freaking mirror now!
The (rejuvenated) Beast
I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to revitalize their beasts to give this guy a call, he is using some kind of black magic to make the finished product look so phenomenal . Can't wait to get out on the road again!
He also recently detailed and opti-coated my M6 as well; I'll try to get some images of that car up as well!
If you are interested in his services just drop me a PM and I'll shoot you the details!

Looks good!
All the marring and spider webs are from frequent car washes.
Ceramiclear paint is a pain to detail. Which reminds me I need to do this soon. I plan on doing it myself however.

looks great! I don't have nearly the amount of swirls, but it would be nice to use these products to get a few of them out. Anyone know the steps to take? ... besides calling a detailer and dropping the car off?

not as easy as what vdub states. you need an orbital to really get at the paint and remove the swirl marks, scratches, etc. Here's what I do when performing a paint correction, specifically on MB Ceramiclear paint which is a hard paint.
- Pre Wash with W99 (to degrease the paint)
- Iron Cut (removes iron deposits especially around the wheel arches and bumpers)
- Wash down and rinsed
- Clayed
- Dried
- Masking (tape off the chrome bits, etc)
- Paint Measurement
- Meg's M105 with cutting pad (first cut at the paint which removes the deep down swirls, etc)
- Meguiar's DA300 (secondary cut which removes the fine swirls, scratches, etc)
- Menzerna SF4000 (polish)
- Last Step – Aquartz (sealant)
You should have a mirror like finish that will leave you smiling. Note however, this process can take 2-3 days depending on how bad your paint looks. This is why folks generally tend to leave it to the professionals that do this for a living and have the time.

I enjoy washing/washing/detaling my E63, but not that much!
I may get through the rainy Spring season and then try to find a shop to do the orbital/buffing 2-3 day process....

Also to answer someones question above. The car was Clayed, and I did not opti-coat it because the lease is up in 7 months and I don't need a protective coat that lasts 3 years.
I recently had my M6 opti-coated by the same friend and OMG that stuff is amazing. I love watching any water just bead off the windshield and paint whilst driving.
