Reading comprehension is important

"at 2000 miles"; "at 30 miles" both referencing odometer miles as the word "at" generally does!!!

Malibu to Thousand Oaks is only a 30 mile tow!!!

'14 E63S, '13 G550, '06 E320 cdi, and a bunch of other stuff.
I think it's a confusing syntax. But whatevs.

You're the first reported case of bad wheel bearings on the AWD update.

I just took delivery of a 2014 Panamera. The list of crap that doesn't function properly on it makes me see red. The alarm module, which cannot be permanently defeated, goes off randomly. No factory fix yet (For a model that has been in production for 14 months). It's like owning a circa 1990 car with an aftermarket alarm system.

The complexity of this technology is outpacing the reliability... Many of these digital/binary gremlins don't show up until many have bought the car and started to demonstrate problems... The manufacturer needs to push the car to the market ASAP and get that green

I feel for you. A colleague of mine took delivery of a 2014 Panamera GTS about a week after I got my E63 S and he has had a few issues. He told me about the alarm issue how Porsche knows about it and readily admits they don't have a solution. That tempered any complaint I have about MB considering that his Panamera cost 1.5 time my E.

Sux... Same with known issues with the current 7g tronic Benz trans... Known hard shifting issues that Benz cannot solve right now ... Two of my benzs bought back for same reason

I have a rear shade issue, needs replacement, my spoiler needs to be re seated, occasional power steering issue, wiper judder (known and no fix) which all will be addressed or not in a couple weeks. I've already had a bad crank shaft sensor and eco malfunction.. Oh and and the audio fade out option doesn't work when navi is guiding u

Pane's arent porsches which is the problem... but thats another story... [a joke]. maybe we've been lucky with many 911s -- I'm sure we'll pay the price with the Macan turbo we have coming, this reminds me that my wife's cayenne turbo years ago was problematic also

my F mechanic thinks the wheel bearings happen at sea as MB may be tying down the car, instead of the wheels, which works the bearings as he said used to happen with all Ferraris until they changed the tie down methodology

the e 63s wagon is like a turbo s with room for my 3 Labradors, if only i trusted its reliability....

we [the dogs and I] just did a run across CA-NV-UT at high speed and the car was as much fun as a 991s cab but then i can only take one dog... what a rocket.

Even with my b.tching about my e 63s wagon, its a screaming steal at $112k with the bang and olefson, which is even better than the burmeister in porsche.

similar issue with my 14' e63 samg this evening; left a dinner meeting -- put it in R and then wont go into D; had a similar issue in an previous MB but that would actually shift , just hard - was fixed easily with some programming...

i'm thinkin its the shift selector module.. will have to find out in 7 hours when dealer opens.. only 9000miles on ODO.....

since this appears to be a common issues, i'm probably gonna contact MB corporate for it.. know people there.. lets see what comes out of this.. I understand nothing is perfect but at ~110K, come on.. !

so went in today- they said there is an open message for a software update on the current e63

then i was told the shifter selectir module may need to be replaced- part will be in tomm- so i said i'l take it home and come by in the morning-
but when i got the car back and left- thank GOD - its back to normal- spoke with service manager again if i still need the module or if the programming was enough- waiting to hear back..

No offense to anyone but I just can't find the panamera attractive ... It reminds me of a stretch limo version of a 997

The gtr just was too dodge looking. Panamera was too expensive in comparison and the back end is just plain unappealing. interior of Pana is really cozy.

I've had the "won't shift out of park or into gear" issue as well and so far the central gateway and conductor plate has been replaced. The problem is back and its at the dealer.

My question for those of you who have had the shift issue is ... Did your car give all sorts of abs, esp,as warnings and did the wipers go on randomly? Thanks.

Today, on my 2011 E63, I encountered the issue of the vehicle not getting out of gear. I drove it last night no issues. I've owned the car for almost a year now, no issues ever. But as stated this morning I got into the car and went to put it in drive and no matter how many times I bumped the shifter down or up, the transmission stayed in park.

Turned the car on and off a few times and this seemed to clear up the issue. As stated this was the first time it occurred and I am glad I was at home. Could of been a scare if I was elsewhere. All these electronics are the cause to the issue!

I was lucky enough to take a video of the problem, so I will be contacting Mercedes Benz and see what they will do for me. Not sure if it was just a glitch with the car or an actual issue I will start to face in the future.

As to anyones questions, yes, I pressed the brake all the way down to ensure any sensor that was getting missed would pick up the brake depress, but as of now no news. When I get more info, I will definitely post an update!

Mine gets a little "jerky" when the weather is below freezing. Also when in C mode, it bumps at a stop light when I hit the gas lightly. Besides that I love this trans.

update Silverstar had the wagon for 14 days, now a total of 17 days on the shifter, the factory came out, said no problem exists and they did yet another shifter replacement.
Lucky I was travelling and didnt care about the delay
yet another episode of can't shift.

the gearboxes and shifters clearly have a problem, and MB is denying it -- but other than this [3 time in 10k miles] the car is a rock star.
if it happens again I will get nasty

Well, my E63 just did it again. That's twice in one day that it wouldn't shift out of park. Haven't reached out to my service advisor yet. This is actually frustrating being that now when I get in my car my first biggest worry is if I'll be able to get it in drive, reverse, or even neutral.

It seems to only do it after it sits over a long period of time (over 6-7 hours).

Btw I'm a 2011 at 55k miles.

Anyone have this issue and MB found a solution?

I've had this happen in my 2011. Sitting at work and would not shift at all. couple times of on and off and its been fine for months now. I"ve had a couple of times when stopping fast at a light that it will say its in drive but the engine just revs. Have to turn the car off and back on again for it to engage drive.
More gremlins with this car then any other I have owned over the years.
