PLM SHORTY HEADERS (arrvived)

Hi,
As some of you know im on the process of modifying my e63 but trying to keep it "stock" as possible.
I wondered why I should pay the extra for a branded product when I can get the PLM which are just as good and cheaper.

I came across an amazing brand called PLM, they are not very recognised but I came across a c63 on the forums who got 12whp from shorty headers which are direct factory bolt on with no modification needed (this is proven on a dyno before and after).
In saying that the car will retain the thunderous amg sound without drone and give you performance at the same time.
Don't think 12whp is a small number, keep in mind at the crank the header estimate to give 18-20hp which is a decent number without modification of any sort to the exhaust pipe.
I got in contact with PLM and ended up buying the headers regardless of knowing the quality, if they are trust worthy, how their communication would be.

I can honestly say the communication was amazing got quick reply's and they are very friendly.
They sent me an invoice to paypal and I paid, keep in mind these guys are not kleemann, or any high up well known company YET, but there had to be a trust which worked out as they sent the headers the next day when the payment cleared up.
Shipping rates were excellent and the item came from America to Australia in 3 working days!
Even kleemann products I've bought before took atleast two for my e350.
When the PLM headers arrived I unboxed them and here they are

Heres a picture of the headers

stainless steel good quality, I will also be posting a before and after figure from the dyno from these headers.
I recommend PLM headers to anyone out there who wants more power without the stuff around of cutting and welding.
They also send gaskets with the headers .

https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/

If anyone wants to check out the 6.3 headers.

I will also be posting before and after dyno results for the e63 as there is one for a c63.
Any questions feel free to ask

How do you know that the sound remains the same if you haven't installed them? I hope they work out for you, but I remain skeptical of non-branded performance products.

they have not yet changed the sound of c63 amg motors when installed. E63 amg have the same motor so theoretically speaking it shouldn't change the sound as well.

Heres a question which will change your thought on non branded products....
What is the difference between a renntech xpipe ($1700) and custom $200 xpipe with 304 grade stainless steel?
They practically do the exact same thing.
Is the non branded going to harm the car? no they will not
I know for a fact when it comes to selling the car the dealers in Australia don't give a crap about if you have branded products or customs any modification will lower the price of the car.

Autowerks Sydney makes amazing custom exhausts for 6.3 engines with LT headers.
Heres a picture being a custom pipe I think they are better than kleemann and renntech.

Branded doesn't always mean better you know.
PLM may not be up there yet but they are an amazing brand with quality work and that's what counts.
and I wouldn't have bought the product unless I saw the before and after dyno gains and yeah there was some
so im happy.

I hear what you are saying, however, I've seen first hand examples on different platforms where some vendor creates an inexpensive performance product that looks good and is manufactured with nice workmanship, but then when tested on independent dynos perform worse than the car's OEM product. I fully agree that branded is not necessarily better, however, at least with products like Renntech (albeit they charge outrageous prices) there are independent / customer dyno tests to verify the claims made by the vendor.

Again, I hope that these work out for you, but I continue to be skeptical (however, I will clarify that I am also skeptical of branded products as I've seen too many bogus vendor claims -- again, not on the E63 platform but other platforms).

Some inexpensive performance products are like that but I can say different about PLM, their products have given proven dyno results to anyone that has bought them.
And here I am trying their product and will post a before and after dyno run of the car just to once again prove it.

But hey by the 30th or 1st ill have my car back with the before and after results and would love to post them up.

It makes me sick to see PLM (and others) charge $1200+ for shorty headers when you can get a set of 304SS headers for 100 different cars (with longer tubes) for 300-600.. The Mercedes markup is ****ing ridiculous. (I know, they are mas produced (on the other cars) but still stupid

Agree. It's one of those "it is what it is" situations but it's such a joke. $3k headers and exhausts, $2500 tunes...it's ridiculous. No more r&d is happening on these platforms than the reputable companies who develop for other makes at a fraction of the cost.
