2014 non-ceramic e63 pad question
So count arround 6-7 weeks after build date to get into car...
On the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website you can see the boat schedule by port and figuring out which boats are leaving arround the build date... I'm hoping to get on Independence II on the 20th! Your dealer will also have boat name once it gets loaded.
Yes, this is a rhetorical question.
The friction is going to wear on either the pad or the rotor. Your choice on which is preferable....
Ask the people who sell "low dust" or "dust free" brake pads to cover your rotor replacements should it become necessary prematurely.

It is a tradeoff. OE rotors for the MB are $1000 per. They're under $240 per axle on my track car.

I've got the caliper tools from years of brake changes across almost every brand... I haven't encountered a brake job I cant do at home. Am I about to run into a $1000/rotor scenario? I don't think I've paid more than $300 for even exotic non-ceramic stuff.
There are brake pads that will wear out your rotors quickly and those are usually a racing type pad that was incorrectly sold to someone as a street pad.
As for the newer AMG's I believe that we are the only company offering a brake pad for these cars right now. EBC is advertising the same pad for the 2009-2013 but the pads changed in 2012. The pads from the non turbo AMG cars are different now and I think that you will find the factory brake pads for these newer cars to be very pricey as well.
If you want a low dust pad that performs and is quiet for your new E63 then I do have a solution for you.

I would hope that if you have an AMG you would only want to improve your brakes and not look for a pad that is cheaper and a downgrade from the factory pads.
