How long do most of you plan to drive your E63?
Traditionally I'm the type of person to drive my car for 5-6 years before I get bored

By the way, I would have kept my AMG longer (18 mo.) but the warranty ran out and I wasn't chancing it anymore.
I have just spoken to a finance person at an Audi dealership that sells Fidelity. It's too bad that Fidelity starts on the day you buy it rather than a pre-selected date. The price tier is determined by whether or not the car is still under the "original" factory warranty (MB's 4 years), and also on mileage that starts with 35K miles and goes up with every 10K miles on top of the 35K miles. If after the "original" factory warranty, then the car needs an inspection.
I think I'm going to look for a place closer to where I am and also wait another year when it is closer to the end of the factory warranty. Otherwise, I'm losing money having two warranties on the car for one year.
Yep, I agree with you on this one, this car is a keeper for sure, best car I've ever had, very smooth, getting these bridgestone pole positions tires a got 5 months ago was a good move, I'll keep replacing them as needed, the key is to road force balance them as with all tires, I'm a perfectionist as far as steering wheel vibrations and that sort of thing. This car does everything I want in a car, decent utility for hauling things, fast, handles good and not bad on gas and all the features it has are just great, no complaints from me on this car. Like you I drive other cars, I keep a VW Jetta TDI wagon in Florida as I do a lot of highway driving there and a Chevy pickup here up north which is great for hauling things around, but I'd much rather be driving the benz, but gotta focus on not racking too many miles up on it, if I did not split up the driving between 3 cars I'd have a half million miles on the Benz in 10 years, lol.
I plan on keeping this 2011 for a long time, I can extend warranty out to 2017 if i want. Previous 2007 E63 I had out of warranty and I did spend some money on it. Air shocks for front, did myself through Arnott. Fixed the pano roof myself after something like $6,000 quote to "replace" it. I have and will conitue to help others here who have pano issues like I had.
Did the rotor and pads myself, I think cost was like $3200 all around using Evosport rotors. Quote for that was $2700 just for fronts.
If you are comfortable and can fix the car out of warranty then fine have at it. I lucked out on what went wrong and I could fix it. If the engine had hydro-locked then I would have been SOL.
