Plasti dip

Hey guys, just wondering about your view on plasti dip. Safe, removable way to change the color on your car, for the low too. Plus protects your car. I have a black e63 (pics included). I will try to get it coated twice with grey, and 4-6 times with white pearl. Suggestions/comments are welcome.

IF done properly it works, but I have seen some pretty bad jobs that show the original color in spots all around. Make sure it's done professionally and you won't have a problem.

Doesn't look like paint in person, even when done professionally. Photos online can make it look great.

Yes, it doesn't look like paint but IMO it's not suppose to. I have plasti-dipped a truck before for off-road protection, works great! The secret is don't skimp, use 6-7 full coats and hit the body panel edges real good. Makes the color much more uniform and also makes it much more durable/easy to remove.

I plasti dipped my the rims on my last vehicle and also used a plati dip clear coat for a protective layer.

it looked great and was very durable. the only thing is break dust accumulates and leaves a red tinge (mine were black)

I would never plasti dip a entire car, the look is dull and is hard to achieve any kind of continuity with the layering.

my suggestion is buy some vinyl wrap and an industrial heat gun and go experiment.
