2015 E63S AMG & 2013 GLK350
Another 2015 E63S picked up…
and two years with my C63 coupe has passed, and my E63S is in the garage Ordered back in July, came in to Baltimore 10/29, made it to the dealer 11/5, and picked up Saturday 11/8 - Cardinal Red exterior and black interior with silver stitching/belts, black ash trim, carbon fiber exterior, carbon ceramic brakes, and pano pretty much round out the important stuff.
I know the red is not a color for everyone, which is why I went that route. Feels like most Mercedes are some shade of black, white, or silver/grey - including my previous five Mercedes/AMG lol
So far a big change from the C63 coupe, aside from being a sedan and losing the sound (I had catless headers on the C63) the car more than lives up to my expectations and I'm only a little over 200 miles in
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, planning on tinting it asap and taking some better pics but had no time, picked up Saturday and attended a charity event on Sunday

Looks great in red. Very unique and aggressive.
You still going to linger on the C63 forum?

Car looks great! I was bummed I couldn't attend last weekend's event at Refuge. You'll be seeing my Lunar Blue beast to be at this coming season's NYC area events especially the 125 Rally by AMG of the Northeast.
I went Lunar Blue for some of the same reasons you went Cardinal Red -- wanted to be different from the usual black, white and silver/gray colors.

Thanks everyone here's a shot my friend sent me from Sunday's event
I think the best comparison I can make is between the E63 and the C63, as many have asked. I don't think that either car is better or worse but rather they are both great in different ways. There are things I already miss about the C63 that it did better than most cars, the sound and throttle response, the coupe styling, steering and suspension feel. That said in a short 200 miles already the E63 has already made the case for why it was the right choice for me.
Thanks, absolutely going to linger around - there is nothing like an M156 powered C63 and it is one of my favorite cars
Cool - looking forward to seeing it, don't forget about the Toys for Tots in Glen Cove on December 7th

I feel the same way comparing the C63 and the E63.
C63 was basically a race car, throttle response and sound, drove like a beautiful merc, but non adjustable tight suspension, super tight handling, and smaller feeling car all around,
BUT the E63 drives like a dream, more bossy in so many ways,
Only thing that gets me right now is driving in Comfort mode and having that rpm droppage feel.
I can't wait till after this baby is broken in to see what I am in for with the power.

Do you intend to tune the car and put on any performance mods? Surely those carbon ceramic brakes need to be put to the test in every use :-). Gonna track the car?
Also I will be curious to know how your CCB perform in the winter and whether they will make noise. Love the way they look against the red exterior.

Totally agree re comparisons to the c63. There are certainly things I miss about the C (tossability, throttle response, weight/feel, etc) but the E is really the perfect combo between luxury and performance. When you fire up the massager, click the ventilated seats on, glide over a speed bump, then mash the throttle and feel that pull...oh yes, this thing does it all! Cool car.
It does also highlight what an amazing bargain the C63 is, especially used now. What an awesome car that was!
Great job on the red, way to be different. Stands out, good for you man.

Thanks, your car is going to be very cool too not just color but being a wagon - I heavily debated a wagon too, and initially requested a wagon before changing to a sedan.
I'm curious too, have been being told about how they will be noisy and will have very poor initial performance in the cold. Of course I'm being told this by people who do not have CCB brakes so… On a different note I was planning on doing something maybe tune/downpipes or lately thinking tune only not sure yet.

As far as going tune only or tune and downpipes, the difference between the two in terms of power is negligible. The tune adds a gargantuan amount of power while downpipes add only a very small incremental additional power gain. They do add more sound however. I went for the Renntech sport mufflers because they're a lot cheaper than their catted downpipes and their claimed power gains are greater (plus 10 Bhp and 15 lbs-ft for downpipes vs plus 15 Bhp and 20 lbs-ft for the sport mufflers. And the sport mufflers also have the benefit of a nice aggressive sound at least according to the clips I've seen. I did not get the downpipe in addition to the sport mufflers because I was advised that that will produce an extremely loud sound. A sound louder then I probably want in a daily driver. Actually I heard a Renntech tuned E63 biturbo with both mufflers and downpipe and it was too loud for me.

That is really an unusual color for the E63 but stands out pretty good with the CF exterior package and CCB.
Enjoy in good health.

Thanks again everyone, I'm very happy with the color choice considering I had not seen it in person prior to my car arriving - and it has garnered quite a bit of attention the few events I've gone to since taking possession. Couple more pics another friend of mine took-
Thanks for the advice, I'm still undecided but wouldn't mind some noise. I think I may start with a tune and see how it goes from there as you said there's not a ton more to be gained from other modifications.
So far the CCB has been fine but I'm only 400 miles in, though no issues even with the chilly weather we've had the last few days.
Yes looking forward to your reports on the matter. I thought long and hard about carbon ceramic brakes and still don't know if I made the right decision by not getting them. I love their look and I would've loved the lack of brake dust.

Thing I don't get is the price difference and what are you getting from one that another doesn't offer?
OE - $1595
Weistec - $2950
AMS - $2999
Eurocharged - $2999
Renntech - $3495

I had good experience with OE on my C63 which was tuned at less than 2k miles and was retuned for headers around 6k miles, it drove great over the next 20k miles with no issues. So I'm considering them for sure. Also Renntech, AMS, Eurocharged, and Weistec (in no particular order).

It does appear to not make quite as much power as a AMS/Weistec/Renntech full tune though, for whatever that's worth.
