EZ pass transponder on E63S

Anyone have a proven placement for an EZ Pass transponder on E63S windshield? On my E350 ('11) I put it just below and to the right of the camera in front of the rear view mirror. A friend has a new GL and the manual indicates two locations, neither of which work for his Florida pass. I am driving south in two weeks and hope to find a satisfactory placement. There is thread on general MB World, but nothing there on AMG's. Note: I have not tried anything yet, since tolls are about the only thing the Vermont gummint has not tried to get my money.

I'm not sure how it works in VT, but with my Bay Area Fastrak, I rarely ever have it in the right car when I'm crossing bridges. As long as you have the license plate registered with them, you can go through without one, then before the system gives you a ticket it checks the Fastrak database to see if the license is in there. You can also go through in any un registered car, then within a day or two , go register that plate number under your acct. Much cleaner than velcro-ing a giant white square to the window.

Transponder placement

I will have to look into that suggestion. Sounds like California and Florida are somewhat more advanced than NY Thruway, MassPike, NJ Pkwy, Tpike! I understand one option is to place the transponder within the grill, which is about the last thing I would do.

The W212 E Class does not have IR reflecting glass like the S-Class or some GL cars. Therefore, you can place the transponder anywhere you wish.

I don't know how the transponders look like in your state, but in WA we use a small sticker for our "Good2Go" pass. I find the most sleek way to keep it out of sight but still read is somewhere on the sunroof. Obviously this wouldn't work if it's a more bulky unit like California's Fastrak.

Below and to the right of the rear view mirror. I place it behind the mirror where it can't be seen from the driver seat.

No issues. Used multiple times a day, day in and day. I'm surprised mine doesn't have smoke coming from it after my commute.
