E63 6.2na with PP worth remapping or not?
Guys has anyone bothered to remap there E63 N/A with pp? As we are already running 525 bhp is there any point? The bhp gains are very small (10-12 bhp) but I would like to know if there is any other gains in doing it? The cost in the uk is £600.00
Thanks
Thanks

I am aware of that but the map only increases it by 10-12 bhp so you will notice nothing. I have the pp & P30 option so already running at stock 525bhp. As conformed by eurocharged

1) every e63 is the same but different at the same they are not identical if that makes sense, the companies make a tune from 1 benz and hope it suits it for all.
2) find out what your A/F ratio is, car is not running to lean from factory etc no problems, what your stock throttle opening is where its sluggish etc with a custom dyno which is always better
3) you'll get more gains from a custom dyno than a premade generic one, I got 39whp with a custom tune on my first e63 because factory it was running like crap, throttle opening was crap etc etc etc.
(extra) i've owned two m156, one was headers, tune and CF intake giving it close to 70whp extra, my current cat is a m156 e63 weistec supercharged BUT weistec send a tune for the car, When the shop uploaded it and tested it on the dyno there was a bit of a flaw so they went back and forth to weistec to to change the etc etc etc etc etc and had my car for 3 days untill the tune was perfected.

Bottom line is that a tune on a N/A car produces nominal gains for relatively large money (i.e. calculate $ / HP). If you are modifying other components concurrently to create some potential (i.e. headers, intake, exhaust, cams etc.), then it is perhaps more worthwhile, but your $ / HP will be relatively expensive. If you are FI, then it's a different story -- additional HP is cheap in the short-term (obviously it compromises reliability long-term). That being said, if getting a tune makes you feel good, go for it.

Out of curiosity in some random places on the web, I've read that the performance package bumps power up to 565hp....can't find any links of that right now though
70whp for headers tune and a cf intake is amazing! It's a pity that the headers don't fit the RHD models (from what I hear)...if they did, I'd be all over that.

Don't go with super sprint or any of those branded headers they are expensive and a waste of money for what they are.
I spent $1600 on LT headers stainless steel LT.

oh....i could have sworn i read about a guy here in the UK having to have his long tube headers modified to fit his 2011 63.
If they're a direct fit, then I need to get a set! Got a link to where you bought yours?
Also, did the butt-dyno register gains once you had it fitted? Did you do the full exhaust system too, presumably and only retain the primary cats?

I'll actually post up a few pictures of the LT headers i've got for the m156 were installing some on few of my buddy's c63's tomorrow.
All do respect to the performance exhaust companies for Mercedes Benz..... Somtimes headers are not worth $3000 euros ($4100 australian dollars) or even $8100 from renntech with cats.
Now here are the $1600 headers which fit e63 and c63 m156 without any modifications.
I just believe some companies out there just want to throw a massive price tag just because of the cars title....
Dual 100cell cats $300 stainless flanged.
P.M me if you want to know how to get the headers which posted up.

Those look very similar to MHP headers. Hmm..I'm very tempted man. Am I right in thinking that it will be a tight squeeze to get some high flow 'primary' cats fitted along with the O2 sensor fitting without extending the wires?
I'll see if i'm feeling brave for payday (which hopefully will be tomorrow) and see if I can justify the cost, less than 2 weeks after buying the car

I personally cannot spend ridiculous amount of money on items which are not worth it.
That's just my opinion.
I just got a car with an LS3 engine in it and only spent $600 on headers + twin 100cell stainless cats.
Other companies were selling headers for $1400+, At the end of the day its just metal which is going to help the gasses escape, get hot and cool down.
As long as the welds are good and its made from good grade stainless steel its all that matters.

I totally agree with you tbh, although I can understand why companies charge more for the fact that they know most AMG owners will be willing to pay the premium for the right to mod their car.
Those headers that you posted above...you had them with the airbox and tune to give you the huge 70hp power gain...did you run cats at all? If so, did you need to extend the 02 sensor wires, or was it ok via the oem loom? I want to understand all that I can about it before I decide to mod my nice oem car

Australian amg come standard with ROW air boxes if you do not have ROW in your car id recommend that to be your first mod.
I run 100cell cats in all my performance cars.
As far as the 02 sensors i can ask my mechanic.
My current M156 is supercharged which i regret buying.
The stage 3 package as i like to call it which has the ROW air boxes with K&N filters (wash the oil off before installing them in), LT headers and a tune is as far as i would go with the m156.
Just modify the front end of the exhaust, headers + cats and add a flange on your stock pipe and if you ever want to go OEM just flange your stock half and bolt them together.
And once you have a tuned car you cant get software updates anymore as they can remove the tune.

The CF air-box doesnt do crap, i done a before and after dyno runs of it, all the CF intake does is cooling off quicker than plastic.

Pro's: car is better on fuel, Love the torque and instant power.
cons: power steering can easily be f**ked over which is a costly repair.
Feels as the car is running hotter and the ice tank cooler is necessary to spend money on.
Stage 3 naturally aspirated package is more fun than supercharged m156 to drive.
Adding a charger does ware some components out quicker.
You're also making the car front end heavier.

Interesting...thank you for the feedback. Power steering gets messed up because of the belt driven supercharger? I've had a longtube headers set-up and the only downside was the loudness (personal preference).

It is a common problem
your car should be running cooler as the engine fan is on full time
My car runs alot cooler being supercharged compared to N/A
Mayeb you need to get that checked
Something is not right
