Dragstrip test: Stock vs Rebellion Tune
3 Attachment(s)
Last monday I went to the dragstrip for the Winter beater drags to test the E63 with the Rebellion Tune on 4 x winter 255 Nokian Hakka and got a best of 11.90 @ 123.57, when I switched to the Stock Tune to compare times it started to snow and the car got no traction.
I went back today with the stock Pirelli summer tires on and because there were so many cars with long wait between runs, I was only able to get one good run Stock and another one with the Rebellion Tune. All Stock : 11.55 @122.93 mph Rebellion Tune : 11.22 @ 126.52 mph The Rebellion got me a gain of .32 sec and 3.59 mph. Dyno had showed a BHP gain of 63 HP and 76 TQ. So does the Rebellion tune works : YES, it's not as storng as the Renntech, Weistec or Alpha Tunes, but it perform as advertised by it's Manufacturer. Overall I'm very happy with the way the car performs : 11.22 quarter while getting a back massage !!! EDITED : Rebellion Tune with Renntech mufflers and BMC filters : 11.16 @ 127.26 mph Video of the run : New timeslip : |
And the best part is that the. Rebellion is free of digital residue that could compromise your warranty, am I correct?
11.2 is friggen sweet man, but so is your stock run lol! How easy is it to go from stock to rebellion? Matter of minutes? What do you have to physically do? |

To go from Rebellion to stock takes only a few seconds, you simply unplug the terminal from the Rebellion unit and plug it into a little Bypass module supplied. Before you do this you have to stop the engine, open the hood, lock the car and wait a few minutes until the suspension and other electronics have stopped fonctionning. The Rebellion unit is about the size on a TV remote control, I velcroed mine at the front next to the driver headlamp, hidden under the top crossbrace. |

Hey Silver,
Do you mind taking pics on your Rebellion Plug and Play installation set up and if you have any tips and tricks on the install. Thanks, |
I'm still very impressed by your e63 runs... 11.2 is nuts

Today I went back to the strip to see if I could improve on the times by lowering rear tire pressure to 32 lbs and removing the spare tire to save some weight. I was able to slightly improve on both of my previous times with a best of : -Rebellion Tune 11.19 @ 126.58 / also 11.20 @ 126.47 -All Stock 11.48 @ 123.45 / also 11.49 @ 123.38 I really feel the car gave everything it had from it's guts, so it would be hard to improve on those times untill I do another mod. I could also feel the electronics at play, preventing the car from launching too hard, like my previous Jeep SRT8 wich would jump furiously from the line. By checking on Dragtimes.com for E63, the fastest Stock time is RTTV with a 11.35 @ 126.4 followed by Steve with 11.68 @ 121.23. When I find some time, I'll send in my slips to claim second spot. Also by checking Dragtimes Tool calculator for DA, and using weight of 4640 lbs (car 4400 + driver 240 lbs) the corrected times would be : Rebellion 11.16 @ 127.03 requiering 700.2 HP, and Stock 11.50 @ 123.13 requiering 639.2 HP (Dyno gave me 692.5 HP with Tune and 629.6 Stock) All this confirms that (on my car) the Rebellion Tune gave +61 HP, and 1/4 mile -0.34 sec + 3.9 mph Just the facts, and I'm very happy with it ! |
What elevation are you at ...
11.1 with a conservative rebellion tune... Seems that you would be in the 10's with a renntech tune only |

My local Dragstrip was closing yesterday, so I went to test the Rebellion Tune with the addition of the Renntech mufflers and BMC filters and I got a best time of 11.16 @ 127.26 mph. Very happy with the results for those simple mods !
Now will be time to put the winter tires on. Video of the run : Timeslip : |
Damn son!!! Very impressive ...

Thank you for sharing the results. In one of the posts, pictures are mentioned - any chance you can post up any pics of the installed unit or the display/control?
