Centre console heating up.... anyone experience this?

I own a 2014 E63S and so far, it has travelled 9500kms. I have noticed in the past month or so that my centre console can get really hot at times. I first noticed this when my leg was leaning on it and I felt the heat on my legs. And when I touched the console, it was hot! Not warm but hot. My keys placed on the centre console was also hot - meaning I had to drop my keys due to the heat.
My coins on the coin compartment were also close to burning hot. This is madness and must not be normal.

And my rear passengers are saying the rear air-condition is not doing its job of keeping them cool despite full blast at 'low'. Not sure if this is related.

Anyone experience this??

That's really strange. Where is the coin compartment?

Does not seem normal at all

Did this just recently start happening?

Maybe there is a Heat shield missing or an exhaust leak

Are you Canadian? I ask because Canadian cars have 3 zone AC while US are 2 zone (with no rear control unit). If the AC in the back isn't working it sounds like it may be an issue with the "Impeller Blower" that sits within the center console and blows the air to the rear passengers.

Essentially the whole middle console. Both the metal panels lining the sides felt really hot. The cupholder region, and the middle console glove compartment as well. This is really odd with the heat. This heat is more marked when I leave the car engine on at rest for over 20 mins. I just received a recall regarding the seal of the engine bulkhead that needed to be checked so I will have them look at the heating issue while I send it in.

I wish I have a pic. I called it a coin compartment, may not be called that. It is the small retractable compartment just in front of the gear selector, just below the air-condition controls.

Maybe. I am worried now. Sending it in next monday. I'll update on what they say. This E63S of mine is getting quite problematic as of late.

95% certain you do have 3 zone AC. I think it's the impeller blower.

I live in vancouver and I bought my S63 2015 last year. This started happening to me this summer where the intelligence mouse track and the big arm rest heat up. I had them replace the track pad but that did not do anything. They have sent it to germany and now awaiting for next step. I find that it seems to be the whole arm rest unit heating from underneath. The tech was trying to sell me that it could be exhaust heat pipe because engine produces heat but thats BS because you can actually hear some sort of heating system working. The track pad is burning hot to the touch so cant just be metal heating from the sun. I will keep you guys posted.

Bet the heat is on in the second row while the rear vents are closed.

Had this happen in my Sequoia. Couldn’t understand why the heck certain areas of the truck were burning hot. Weeks later I was in the rear and noticed some dummy (probably me or the dog) had turned on the rear zone to heat and maxed to 85 degrees.

I would kill the climate control altogether during a drive and see if that works.

Yes I have and a guy on forum was absolutely correct. The rear climate control n vents were set to on a d heat. So it would heat up glove box, now if the vents were also.closed then the arm box got exceptionally hot!!! Turn rear climate controls to cool or completely off
