cts v reviews are coming in
#26
Caddy is trying to take on the Germans head-to-head. In their mind, that means pricing their vehicles equivalently. There is no longer much space between the CTS-V and M5/E63. Time will tell if the market thinks Caddy is in the same league.

The only way Caddy can get away with this is very limited production. Keep the supply lower than the demand. If they produce too many of these things, I think you'll see $10k off sticker pretty easy after the first MY. No way will anyone ever value an American car at the same level of a German car, even if the stats are there. The Z06 didn't even try to do that. It's $100k for a fully loaded one but the performance levels are of cars that are $150k (Porsche Turbo, used 458's, etc.). American cars have always been a "better bang for your buck" model and Caddy is going against the grain here. Good luck!

I don't think the Caddy has anywhere near the features the Benz has like Distronic and the Camera system and probably the stereo is crap too. Cadillac use to be the industry leader with innovation. Now they just try to compete with a little more advertised horsepower (which is about the same in reality as they over advertise power and performance figures) and think they will stay ahead of the game this way. The built quality and materials especially interior is so much better with the Benz. Anybody would be a food to buy one of these new V's over a E63S Benz. The V looks way too much boy racer at least for me too.

MB really needs to replace the airmatic with MRC. Of course, having a supercharged high-displacement engine would be nice too but that's not happening with MB...

I like how GM approach the V-Series: No track-pack, no things like S-model/P30/P31, no CCB--because V is the track pack. That's how AMG should approach it.

Despite their large improvements in the interior aesthetics, you are right. It's just not a Mercedes. If I'm going to suffer with lack of refinement I'd just rather have a Z06.

I raced a 2017 CTS V at the track tonight he was having problems spinning on every pass. Actually most his runs were in the 12.2 range at 117-119 it was hot at the track and DA was 3280 ft . My best pass was my first pass a 11.75 @121.90 here is my time slip vs the CTS V as you can see I was sleeping at the light car ( 204) and by the 1/8 mile he was a car and a half behind me at the top end he was still a car behind me and that was with nearly .2 of a second head start
also for what it's worth this was his fastest pass of the night . And was my slowest pass of the night . I also smoked a hellcat challenger that could not drive and ran 13.1s all night lol.
Here is my fastest pass and this was against they crappie Help Cat driver lol

Thats good news, is your car stock? Awd right? I run around 12.1's in my stock 2 wd 2012 wagon, which I'm happy with. I would like to do a tune at some point and get into the 11's. Ya, that driver in the hellcat really did not know what he was doing, 102 mph trap speed, sad.
