Ok. To put this to rest, I was on my way back from my daughter's sleep over at her cousin's house and was at a dead stop at a red light with a CTS V wagon right next to me first in line. Hit the AMG mode and the race was on. I over took the Cadillac from 0-80mph. That is all I needed to satisfy my need and yes. I do realize my is tuned and the CTS V was probably stock.

Good point. Well in that case he should've buried that stock CTS-V wagon then since his tuned 2012 E63 should be trapping at least 123 + in the 1/4 mile compared to 114-116 for a stock CTS-V wagon (note the wagon is 2-3 mph slower than the sedan and coupe due to weight).

No worries. No offense taken. My E63 was the one that is turned and the one I used in the race. It may be luck, but it satisfy my curiosty what would happen if I raced one. I understand if the Cadillac was tuned, story might be different. But the stock Cadillac was willing to see how fast his beast was and I just got ahead.

I am still playing with the idea of upgrading my turbos though.

Now if you upgrade those turbos it will take a full bolt on V to touch you and we will be reading stories about you whipping Hellcats!

I was reading the performance data on the SRT Hellcats which stated the 0-60 was at 3.4 seconds. I might not get killed that bad as how my car sits with the Renntech ECU tuned and 200cell cats, but for sure if the turbos was upgraded I'll be passing the 707hp on the SRT.
I'm sure I can out run it on the top speed with the P30 rated at 186mph? Anyone know the top speed of the SRT?
Just not sure how upgraded turbos will affect the daily driver. I'm not a track guy so not sure upgrading them is right for me.
Any members care to chime in if you had your W212 E63 turbos upgraded?
Many thanks.

Thanks for the information. You sure know your cars. Growing up, my first car was a saleen mustang and that was all the American car I ever had. Every other car was Japanese or European cars so didn't have allot of chances playing with the American muscle cars.

It's all good. I am just a pure car enthusiast of all cars no matter the make. I belong to the AMG of the NE and I attend at auto shows all over all the time. I use to love the old body late 90's early 00's Saleen Mustangs! My first performance car was a H/C 00 WS6. That car was a beast for it's time. Check out these videos below. As I said before your car will be an absolute monster (maybe Tuned RS7 level of monsterville) with upgraded turbos. If its in your budget and you plan to keep the car for at least 2 more years than I would seriously consider it.

Thanks for the videos. I do plan on keeping the E63 as a pet project car since I have the GL63 and S65. I might even consider getting the new body E63 when it comes out in 2017.
Budget is not a problem for me. What is, is the reliablity of turbo upgrades. Warrantee is also a factor that I need to take into consideration. I guess since I already got the ECU tuned that I should not worry about the turbos getting upgraded, but still do. I mean it's nice to know with a turbo upgrade, I will be the king of the hill, but street race is all I do and do I need to be speedy like a mania.
Anybody had or has their turbos upgraded ? Any feedback on the pros and cons?

Bolt on Hellcats are knocking on the 9 second door today. 10.4@132 this past weekend at Cecil Cty.
There is a tuned and Nos one trapping near 140 also.
Also, from factory, they are unlimited and top out at a supposed 202.

I think this thread will go on and on about how Dodge created a monster and how 67 or 69 Chevelle SS, Camaro and Mustang with blown super chargers can run circles around the AMGs, but to put things in line, how do American muscle cars do in lateral g pulls and luxury department.
I have a cousin that built the Honda Silver bullet CRX back in 2010 that ran 8 seconds flat and someone beat that a year later.
Typical, I try to compete with European cars. Sorry, just my 2 cent.

When you said eat "them" for lunch I took that to include CTS-Vs since your post directly followed a post asking about CTS-Vs. There's no way we can hang mod for mod with CTS-Vs. they have real tuning capabilities that we still don't have for the W211 platform let alone the W212...
for cryin out loud i destroyed camaro Zl1's and even modified ZL1's with 700 hp in my STOCK cls63...
have you ever watched any of the videos of tuned cls's and especially ones with upgraded turbos? in order for a modded ctsv to take a fully modded E63/CLS63, it would need a good 150 hp advantage.
it takes $20,000 in upgrades to take the ctsv to 700 hp. (Hennessy). to get it to 1000 hp, which is what it would take to beat a fully modded e63, would take im guessing at least another $25K and at that point the ctsv is well above the price of the e63, stock OR modded.
stock for stock the e63 murders the ctsv, and modded vs modded it is the same or even worse for the cts v... since 1, they make less power even though they have a bigger engine, and 2. E63 has "2: turbos where ctsv can only have 1 supercharger.
HP for hp the 63 will always pull on a ctsv

Wow, my experience was totally the opposite as yours I had a 2013 CTS-V Wagon and it was in the shop all the time and my Benz has had no issues that were the cars fault in 2.5 years and 40K miles now. I also briefly had a CTS-V Sedan that was a 2012 and it had a bad rear end within 5000 miles from new and I just did not like the way either of those cars drove. Very strange steering feel and the cars both felt totally inefficient. The Benz drives a lot more like a normal car. Anyhow, sorry about changing the subject away from the vette vs the benz. The other thing I felt about the CTS-V was it seemed like a big car but had very limited space inside I felt cramped, I guess for a smaller person it would be ok. The Benz I feel like I can stretch out. Lastly the performance at least on my two CTS-V's was very disappointing, I did not even feel like I was driving a performance car, the Benz really presses me into the seat when I get on the throttle. I can't really see why anyone likes a CTS-V. Some American vehicles do have their own place. I really like my Chevy pickup truck and it has been reliable.

The last thing I want to do is get into a pissing match...but you're clueless. If you think it takes that dbag Hennessy or $20k to bring a CTS-V up to 700hp you really are clueless. CTS-Vs are running 10s with mild bolt-ons and a few yare running 9s. No Benz is doing that!
Another dude stating stating a bunch of **** he heard on the Internet and taking it as Gospel. I'm telling you I've seen dozens of these and they run **** at the track. These examples your seeing of 10's and 9's are 1 in a thousand. Can it be done? Yeah sure. But Go to a drag strip once in a while and tell me how often you see it. you'll see what I'm talking about.
