stupid rear diff oil service
need to change out 1.5L of fluid in the rear diff, it also requires new fill and drain plugs.
Oh well, at least it's cheapish. $80CAD in fluids and $60CAD for the silly new drain and fill plugs. I don't understand why they couldn't have had it be a replace a copper washer type deal.
Also does anyone happen to know the fluid capacity of the 5.5L Biturbo engine? I think it's 8L but I could be wrong.

I don't remember on my 2012 having to change drain plugs or anything, Maybe they changed it? I just remember taking out the drain plug, draining and putting it back in. No leaking in 30K miles so I guess it's alright.

What oil does the engine take? I'd like to have 1L extra on me sealed in the trunk just in case I need to top up anytime between services.

Perfect thanks guys I have 4 1L containers of 0w-40 left from my previous vehicle I had just purchased this year. Works out, and yes I see on the back of it and doing some research that mobil 1 0w-40 works for our AMG's.
