ALPHA Performanc Carbon Fiber intake / Induction system *RELEASE*

Alpha Performance Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Carbon Fiber Intake System

Lightweight and aesthetically appealing, the Alpha Performance Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Carbon Fiber Intake System is also the most efficient choice you have for improving the air intake of your 2012+ Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. It was designed, first and foremost, to improve performance and power production while offering a beautiful quality finish to truly complement your stock or upgraded M157 5.5L Biturbo V-8 engine. You’ll gain 20+HP over stock turbos and a tune alone with an even more prolific 30+HP gain on top of the power produced by our upgraded Alpha 9 Turbochargers.

Engineered To Achieve The Absolute Best Results

Development of this high-flow intake system began during testing of our Alpha 7 Performance Package. Our engineers discovered a significant pressure drop in the intake ducting located after the stock air filter box - a telltale indication that the OEM system was not performing efficiently. To improve air flow and eliminate restrictions, the process of designing a set of higher volume air filter boxes, filters and piping began with a CMM scan to determine the best use of space within the tight confines of the engine bay. With that data, a CAD design was developed and taken to a working prototype. The results confirmed our suspicions and rewarded us with HUGE power gains!

Optimum Airflow Unleashes Maximum Horsepower And Torque

In our design, the cross-sectional area of the air box filter was increased by a massive 41%. In addition, the cross-sectional area of the inlet was increased by 20%, while the outlet was increased by 25%. Enlargement of these three sections reduced bottle-necking within the system. By creating a more balanced and less restrictive intake system, we were able to significantly improve the performance of your 5.5L BiTurbo equipped Mercedes.

Much More Than Just A Fancy Lid And Different Filter

Unlike other intakes in the market, we redesigned the entire intake system - not just the air filters or the filter lid. It is considerably larger and makes more power than the competition and provides your AMG with improved air flow dynamics for greater efficiency and maximum output! By using full carbon fiber construction, the air boxes, inlets and tubing are incredibly strong, lightweight and look great. In addition, we supply wire reinforced, custom molded silicone couplers for durability and function.

Works On Both Factory And Upgraded Turbos

While other air box options are available, the Alpha Carbon Boxes offer far superior performance and are the last ones you'll ever need to buy. Rather than requiring replacement, if you decide on larger turbos down the road, our engineering team designed an innovative coupling sleeve. This allows you to transition from stock to upgraded turbos if you so choose – making this truly a one-time purchase.

Optional Carbon Fiber Engine Cover

You have the option of either trimming your factory cover or complementing your new intake with our matching carbon fiber center cover. Provisions have been made to transfer the Mercedes emblem and the AMG name plate for a unique yet factory appearance which will wow anyone peering under your hood.

Congrats AMS on yet another great product.

Question. The pattern pictured on the engine cover seems different than on the new CF intake. Is the CF engine cover OEM or the aftermarket CF engine cover. Would the pattern match better with your aftermarket CF engine cover?

So tempting. Nice work on the look and gain.

Very sexy looking mod

but as a person who has done this mod on the 55k, the airbox (not from AMS, but was made from carbon) yellowed with time and heat.

What is to prevent that from happening here, if you do not mind me asking?

Also those filters are dry or oil based?

That is our carbon fiber engine cover. Due to the sheer size of the airboxes the factory cover doesnt fit without some trimming. Rather than try to match that cover we saw it best to make our own that was designed to work our new induction system.

We actually laid out having the weave go in all one direction across the three pieces vs having the air box lids contrast with the engine cover and the contrasting looked better as if the weave didn't line up perfectly it looked a bit off.

Our filters are dry

We are using a special high heat resin in the carbon so the yellowing will not be an issue. Its a similar process that we do on our intake manifold for the GT-R:

Thanks AMS. So this means the OEM engine cover would not or needs modification to fit the AMS kit and how difficult would it be to modify the OEM engine cover to fit because I have the OEM CF cover already from the factory.

There is some mild trimming that would have to be done to make the stock cover fit. its not terrible but there is some cutting.

As a manufacturer we really can't do group buys. This is something an AMS / ALPHA dealer would have to arrange.

Thanks... Can you relay the message to some there are a few guys on here who are temped to pull the trigger but probably won't. A group buy for atleast the first 10-15 would certainly make a difference for some. It would also help push the product as im sure many will rave about it. Just a though

The power is in the design, the carbon just helps shed a touch of weight and add a great deal of aesthetic appeal to the engine. If it were made out of a more common material with the same design I would imagine that the gains would be similar.

the carbon is lovely but we dont have see thru hoods, so it becomes less important until we show up at a car show....if u guys ever make it in simpler material....i reckon sales would be quite a bit

I agree 100%, I don't care what it looks like and if it makes it cheaper produce a version in plain plastic.

would there be any benefit or would it even be recommended for someone with a completely stock car to purchase this system.

obviously this system dumps alot more air in to the engine and the turbos, vs just changing only the stock air filters

so the question i ask can the stock turbos adapt to the massive increase in air? esp for the long term...

if someone already has a tune whether it be yours or weistec etc, should they be retuned based on this product?

Stock turbos will certainly benefit from the airboxes.

Getting a tune for the air boxes will yeild better results.

Having something like this made out of say plastic is not much cheaper to produce. Most injection molding tooling is based on thousands of units sold. Mold costs are ridiculously high. The per part price might be cheaper but the overall cost per unit would be the same or higher as you have extremely expensive tooling and mold costs to divide over only a small number of units.

You guys could avoid the tooling/mold costs by 3D printing. Just sayin' .
