how's it crazy?
you're talking about a non-certified car that was driven, and I quote Carfax: "28,051[mi] / yr " and then returned to the dealership, then it couldn't get certified (probably because it's already out of warranty), and then it got auctioned to some strip mall car lot in Texas?
there's cheap, and desperate, and then there's cheap and desperate.

Out of warranty, and not eligible for the ELW factory warranty from Mercedes. Considerably higher mileage 2014 car. Not to mention probably beat to death already. Nothing crazy about it. Car went to auction and a used car dealer bought it cheap because it got passed up by any regular MB dealer that would have had more to spend to get a CPO quality car. When I looked at cars before I bought mine. I saw several that were priced low, but they were just beat up for a couple year old car.
Stop talking about the car and buy one already, or don't. We don't need Toadster version 2.0 like the barrage of questions before you bought your e55.

High mileage cars do not necessarily translate to beat up cars. They usually have been driven on freeways quite a bit and by somebody who probably use it for work and carrying clients around in the South like Texas or out west like California. Great year-long, year-round driving weathers

Thats a great price on the 2014, gonna be pretty tempting for somebody to take the gamble without the warrantee, but is something is wrong with the car or goes wrong they are pretty much screwed unless they are a mercedes mechanic.

if you are paying cash, you have close to an extra $20k in your pocket for out of warranty expenses vs buying 2014 CPO... if you are financing you should have about $350 savings per month (or $4200 per year) over average CPO 2014 monthly payments
is just a matter of gambling whether or not you are going to have more expenses on repair vs what you saved by gettting a 58K 2014 e63 out of warranty
fwiw, i have had my 2014 (its a CPO) for about a year and not one problem yet that required dealer visit other than a fouled spark plug right after getting my renntech tune, and plugs arent covered by warranty anyways so i had to pay for it but wasnt much.
also as other's mentioned , miles dont necessarily = bad....i prefer a car that has a 25K of highway miles per year vs only 10k per year in stop and go traffic

The year has turned, 2014s are now 2 years old. You will start to see more and more of them dropping down to the low $60s and high $50s, even CPO.
Also MB rules are such that you can only CPO your AMG if you bought it from a 3rd party dealer than an actual MB dealer. The MB dealer HAS to sell its used MBs as CPO or it cannot be CPO'ed after sale
Buddy ended up selling his car to a third party rather than turning it in after lease expired because he made more money that way, that car will be offered on a 3rd party lot without CPO (just an example of why so many off leased cars are showing up online without CPO)
