I have option 610 - night view assist on my Canadian 2012 E63

I did not have the option on my 16 E63 S Wagon. To be honest I've seen it and it's not that great either. It's more of a gimmick in my opinion.

I haven't seen available as an option on 2015 or 2016 E63's in the US.

I have it on our 2012 e63 estate wagon. Option 610 night view assist.

I have on my 2012 CLS. Agreed...pretty useless. The LED headlights on this thing light up the night so brightly, can see how this would ever be needed.

I disagree that it is useless. If you drive where there is wildlife crossing or on the road it might just be that bit of help to keep you from hitting one of them.

Also, double checked that it's definitely not a build option on the website right now.

It was not an option when I built my order in 2013... I begged MBUSA for OSD too and that wasn't around then. Trust me: my dealer was glad to have me delivered and out the door.

I have option 610 on my 2012 as well. Haven't really used the function much.

You will need a dedicated passenger staring at the screen at all time for that to be work, if you prefer to continue driving at a reasonable speed.

I'll take any help I can get. I hit a deer with a Porsche killed the deer and the Porsche. Everyone in our family has hit a deer or had a deer run into the side of their car.

Doesn't the system actively identify pedestrians and/or animals and sound an alert? If so, I would find that useful.

After I struck and killed 2 deers just standing there in the middle of passing lane at highway speed around 3 years ago, I have formed the conclusion that any animals with a large body supported by 4 skinny bony legs tend to be pretty dumb. Tell me if I am wrong with my hypothesis.

Only once have I noticed a rectangular shaped markings tracking a pedestrian but I have never heard any audio alert. I have tried the feature with pedestrians crossing in front of the car but the rectangular markings cannot be elicited.
