Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
Carfax means nothing - trust me..... the S8 my friend bought had a celan one as well but had the whole rear rebuilt.... not quality work unfortunately but enough so that he didn't realize it until he took it in for first service and his SA had him look at it on the lift...

that said if you've got the time to get it inspected certainly it's nice to have that discount....and it's one heck of a car !

Yet completely irrelevant to most luxury car buyers. 50-70% of new luxury cars are leased not bought. Those owners could care less about depreciation

Get an MB dealer to inspect it before pulling the trigger. If its a good car, buy it. The only reservations I would have is 1. why is it off lease so soon? And more importantly, 2. WHY do they have it and not an MB Dealer? The MB dealer had to ground the lease, they get first swing at buying it before this company does, so why did they pass?

I have literally the first E63S in the state of Florida, its a 2014 and I took delivery Aug 5th 2013 which was the first day they delivered these. My lease isnt even up yet, I am getting a new AMG next month just waiting (since February) for it to come in from Germany. I am buying this time though (G63AMG).

There are quite a few cars that go on sale after just a year on lease, nothing new. There are at least 20 2015s with less than 15k miles most off lease cars on sale on just one car site I looked.
Also MB does not necessarily get the main crack at keeping these cars. CPO process is expensive and the market for $70k+ cars used is rather small, most prefer to buy new at that price point.

It's a hertz rental car... They usually get one year in service

I think whoever buys this car should do their due diligence. A 2015 off lease is not normal. Period. If it was a Hertz rental car, who in their right mind would buy that? Its hard enough to follow break in when its your car, let alone someone elses.

There are guys in this very thread that would buy that hertz rental ... See above for their arguments in favor of that ...

You are right, just surprises me sometimes to see someone OK with spending such an amount of money on a niche car like this that has been a rental. I know being a rental isnt so horrible if this was a standard commuter car where the value can only swing so much, but at 70k, why not just spend a little more? Someone told me a while ago "there is an a$$ for every seat, just have to price it right" I guess that really is true!!!

The 72k car is white with night package dual sunroof and rear DVD setup.
I'm not a little kid at 40 and i would totally rent a e63 for a weekend away and totally beat the **** out of it..... it's a rental, it's what they are there for, hence why i would never buy a used car that was previously a rental. I don't break my cars in regularly, but i dont' abuse them either. All scheduled maintenance gets done when it's supposed to be but they are driven like they were designed to be. But i don't also hold any car over 24 months either.

A rental e63 is a GREAT way to destroy hertz' car and take an extended test drive of a car you may want to purchase

Then I can read about someone on this forum buying it and babying ... Kinda like marrying a stripper?

I wouldn't automatically walk away from a rental buy, but 10% isn't a big enough discount off cpo retail to consider this one.

20-30% off ... now maybe I'm looking.

Haha more like dating, it wont cost you anywhere near as much to get rid of it!

And who says 40 year old dudes dont smack the heck out of their cars? My business partner goes through tires in his 63 more than anyone I have ever met. Its kinda insane. He gets maybe 3k out of a set of rears.

Offlease sucks or I mean stinks

Don't buy from off lease, they rival buy here pay here places.
That car and my 2013 sl63 are intricate and technical. So you are going to need the extended warranty. So that you can quote from and at the mb dealership, when you have the car checked out. You can ask for records with the vin. Toyota (mb only does their dealer stuff) bumper to bumper will cost you 4725.00 if they take it and inspection (500.00) is ok. That is for three years. I have other years quoted too if you need.

Unless you can steal the car at mmr ( the auction price) the cpo is the best way to go. But personally I would not ever consider a car From off lease.

These cars All depreciate about 1000 per month.

New country on okeechobee or in north palm can inspect it. I think that was 300 but mine was under warranty. I bought from bramam bmw and I did streal mine at auction price or a little lower .

But personally, if buying low is your only thing, then you should go to manheim high line palm beach auction and get some one owner not rental. I can hook you up with a dealer.

You also should know that fixing stupid thing like the automatic trunk close is 700. And that isn't close to the sophication of the car and the car problems when they happen.

Thanks for all your input!!

You guys are a great resource for newbies like myself.

After taking in all your input and advice, I ended up avoiding the offleaseonly car and I leased a new 2016 e63s from my local mb dealer and took this first photo of the machine.

Love the car so far!
