Dyno pull was somewhat inconclusive. I'll post the dyno graph on another thread to sum up my entire experience.

Just to update everyone:

Tuesday, 5/31: I sent the ecu back to the original tuner.
Wednesday 6/1: Original tuner flashed the ecu back to stock for a refund.
Thursday 6/2: Received ecu back from the original tuner. Shipped ecu back out to Renntech same day for their full tune.
Friday 6/3 (Today): Renntech tuned but bad news. Renntech will not provide their standard 3yr 36K miles warranty due to "improper" drilling of the ecu from the original tuner. Ecu in route for Monday, 6/6 delivery.

Keep in mind between shipping the ecu back and forth, my car is down. And by this time, I have incurred $510 in overnight shipping (40% of the original tune). Plus, no warranty from Renntech due to "improper" drilling of the ecu. I will probably hit the track again out of my own curiosities.

why not go to ams/ speedriven since they are local to you? always nice to have your tuner local if you plan on tweeking things in the future

I personally prefer the linear powerband from Renntech tune vs other tunes.

Who is the original tuner? If you don't want to say, please PM me.

I am glad you had a dyno post tune, now you can compare both tunes on the same car and same dyno, hell even at the same track all within a couple of months apart or closer.
Best real world experience we can ask for from a customer.

Hope you dyno and track the car again is what I'm saying :-)

As you can see from this post tune dyno, it only shows hp. The reason is provided below from the shop who dyno'd the car:

The dyno picks up an electrical signal from the ignition system through an inductive pickup. This system clips onto either a plug wire, or the engine harness just before a coil on plug set up. On 1 out of every 100 cars or so this system has connectivity issues and gives off false readings. This can be due to poor engine grounds or other electrical issues, or even excessive engine vibration. The dyno software uses this pickup to calculate engine RPM, so if it does not work accurately, it will revert to calculating wheel speed as the dyno knows how fast the rollers are moving. This is why the graph is scaled by MPH and not by RPM.

We do not have the air/fuel ratio logged by our dyno computer, it is a secondary system with an AEM gauge and sensor plugged into the tail pipe. It is not displayed on the dyno graph itself, as it is not connected to the computer.

For this reason, I will not dyno my car at the same shop post Renntech tune. Sadly, AMS does not offer a baseline dyno unless you are getting their tune and I cant seem to find any other shops to dyno the car (two months out for appt). However, I am going to take the car out to the same track to see if my trap speed improves with Renntech tune.

I received several PM messages regarding the name of the original tuner. The reason why I didn't post their name on this thread was because I'm not trying to start another thread of one tuner vs another tuner but instead share my experience. I will start another thread as soon as I can get the car back out to the track post Renntech tune. Meantime, if you want to know the name of the tuner or have any questions feel free to PM me.

I guess not everyone is savvy like you to search my previous posts.

I'm pretty certain Eurocharged tune wasn't producing the hp as it should given my low trap speed at the track, but I have no concrete evidence to support this theory until I can get my car out to the same track again post Renntech tune which is why I wanted to leave the Eurocharged name out.

And I think it's the right thing to do whether we can search for it via previous posts or not. It made this thread less about this vs that and more about 'the why' so far, and we are adults enough to make up our minds after we see your results.
If then it becomes a tuner vs tuner war, well you simply reported lol

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Silvers sounds like you did all the right things, I'd be upset too if I'd put as much into your car as you've done and ended up with such a bad trap speed. Something is not right. My 2012 is stock and Wagon and I run 12.2's @ 120 mph. You should be Mid 11's and 125 to 127 on trap speed. Be anxious to see what the Rentech tune does, keep us posted.

I hope his renntech tune puts him where his car belongs from a performance standpoint otherwise it's down the rabbit hole looking for hardware problems

Monday, 6/6 (figured I continue to update this thread rather than starting a new thread):

I received the ECU back from Renntech today. As soon as I opened the box, I was already impressed by the way it was packaged by them. Not only did Renntech wrap the ECU in bubble wrap (wrapped like a mummy), they also removed the 4 legs that hold the ECU and taped it to an ESD bag. I was very hesitant about my ECU not being sent out in an ESD bag but someone read my mind.

When I received the ECU back from Eurocharged after getting the ECU flashed back to stock, it looked like someone had just thrown the ECU back in the box without any care despite how I shipped it to them (3rd photo). To be fair, the packaging was better when I first received the ECU back from Eurocharged after receiving the tune.

Without further ado, I reinstalled the ECU back in my car. The car started right away without any issues/codes. This was the same as when I received the ECU back from Eurocharged after the tune.

After reinstalling the ECU, I drove the car around the block and immediately noticed the car is more eager under normal acceleration in S+ mode and can hear more burble/bark from the exhaust. I also noticed the bucking/idle issues known to this platform has been drastically improved, which I was very happy with the result.

One thing I learned from the previous tune, to invest in some sort of OBD2 scan tool to be able to perform basic data logging in case I run into any issues. So I purchased a OBDLink MX Bluetooth scan tool with DashCommand app. While I understand this is not 100% accurate, this tool/app will serve its purpose.

There's a local track event this Sunday @Great Lakes Dragaway. I'm planning on running the car again. Those of you who are local, you guys know that Route 66 in Joliet is a better prepped track than Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. Will post video and time.

Stay tuned!

^Thanks Peter. This has been a very painful experience for me, and I'm very anxious to find answers to my speculations regarding the previous tune.

My initial butt dyno tells me the car feels noticeably faster now but only one way to find out.

I posted the drag strip event on the regional forum in case anyone wanted to join me and make sure I don't let off the gas before the quarter mile mark.

Easy to say that with an E55 where you can tune instantly via OBDII. In the TT63 if you're not close to one of a few locations across the US your car would be down for a week or more sending your ECU back and forth for a custom tune.

Good luck with that, hopefully you live in Chicago, Stuart, or Houston. If not you can not tune your W212 E63

How about we not jump to conclusions yet.

Let's get this car back to the track, and hope temps and prep are the same.
And of course, same all season tires. Because for you change the tires, this will no longer be a fair comparison.

not this weekend it won't... (KOTS) Great lakes will be the best prepped it will be all year, easily. Use your OBD logger to track IAT's please. My friends car ran 125 at 66 a few weeks ago with the same sw you have.
