E63 AMG-S resonator delete

Had my resonator deleted on my E63, and had it replaced it with an X pipe. At first it didn't sound any different than stock, but it's slowly being broken in with the rest of the exhaust and it sounds amazing!

Any drive by vids?

I did this to all my M157's and loved it. On my CLS I did straight pipe, no X... F'ing hate it.

Next week removing mufflers, and adding X.

Does this add any snap, crackle, pop sounds?

AG6 07-23-2016 12:35 PM

Thanks for sharing sounds great!

You can definitely hear the turbos a lot better. I'm also betting the turbos spool quicker.

where'd you get the x pipe front? is this a direct cut and play piece or was it all custom? i want to do the same but cut and play... don't want to weld or do any custom bending etc

So I had a x pipe installed today and it not only sounds awesome, but performs better. Mine is Ams tuned car and I love the new sound and feel

Oops, I'm sorry, I just realized this is w212 forum.

So the exhaust has been fully broken in, it got louder and it sounds super good. I'll get more videos of it soon, just been busy with work.

Yes it does. I live on a very steep hill (the top of a mountain in the area) and on cold temps all you hear is pops and backfiring when you let off the gas. When its at temp and you romp on it, it snaps/backfires when shifting and down shifting. Sounds amazing. I have the double pane glass so its not that loud with the windows up, but with all four down it sounds like a beast.

I went to a local muffler shop. Its a Magnaflow X-pipe around $100. Paid $275 including the X-pipe. They welded it on, cut off the stock resonator. It was a direct cut and weld piece.

X-pipe didn't increase the volume for me, only straights did (and by an incredible amount... accelerating in a tunnel with windows down is a recipe for hearing loss). Odd.

Please do!

I'm interested to see what defines loud in these parts.

I had an 09 and 13 c63 both with secondary cat / res deletes. This Friday I am taking my e63 in to have the resonator deleted and will report back on how they compare.

I have my doubts about how much louder the E actually gets so we shall see!

It won't be as loud as your 6.2NA motor because of the turbos, but the 5.5 is pretty loud with the correct setup.

A resonator delete on this is loud, but a 6.2NA with resonator delete is louder.

To get loud you'll also need muffler delete or valve-controlled muffler.

Here are a few quick drive by videos recorded via Snapchat. I'll get better ones soon.
