Exhaust suggestion

I am looking for an exhaust suggestion with a couple preferences. Must have a control valve to lower decibels/tone comparable to stock or quieter. Should be a drop in replacement without any cutting or permanent modifications.

I know some of the systems like the meisterschaft require cutting the stock mufflers off.

I'm also looking for the same type of exhaust modification. Seems difficult to find something that doesn't involve cutting. I actually wouldn't mind that part but I really want the control valve.

Most of the systems that are valved and bolt on are fairly expensive. They don't add any performance gains. With that being said I am a dealer for Capristo systems.

The Meisterschaft GTC is probably the most cost-effective valved system for this car. It does involve cutting. Here is a thread that discusses it. https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...gtc-e63-s.html

I recently wanted a bit more sound so cut out the resonator. With the valves closed, it is pretty quiet, but thunderous with the valves fully open at full throttle.

i have been considering this one while it does require cutting, it is reasonably priced for valve control. Compared to the Capristo at $7k.

it also keeps resonators so should help with cabin drone.

I have also been considering the AMS catback exhaust. While its not valve controlled, it is a bolt on system, reasonably priced, and they are local to me. They also have other goodies I may be interested in the future

I'll be picking up the AMS exhaust and downpipes in the coming months. Their products are top notch. Had many of their products on my Evo X.

All these exhaust systems look quite similar in the way they are designed, but in videos it seems like the capristo one is much louder than all the others, why is that?

You are right. I have Capristo for over year now. I am more than happy. But you can not instal valve control exhaust without permanent modification, as it requires cutting vacuum pipe which is placed under engine cover plastic. I can say that only Capristo is loudest ready solution on market right now , while brabus exhaust is a bit quieter.
