E550 rotors with AMG calipers???

Guy is selling a set of amg calipers and claims you can use the (front) e550 rotors and I know there are some reasonably priced rears on the market.

I know the benefits of 1 vs 2 piece, so that aside, does anyone here know if there is any truth to this?

I've read up a bit but haven't found a definitive answer.

Thank you!

All you have to do is use EPC with your VIN to answer correctly your question---be nice to the donut girl at any dealer and maybe she will help you!!

AMG rotors are bigger than the ones fitted on 550 models

^+1^,

I think your E550 4-Matic front Rotors are (344x32), while "55K's/63's" AMG Rotors are (360x36) or (380x36) or (390x36)..!

Thank you all. Someone in the Non-AMG w212 section trying to unload some AMG calipers made the claim. As I'm about to do a full brake job anyway, I was going to consider it IF the rotor detail had in fact been accurate.

Thank you all for the rapid feedback. My next car is going to be of the full AMG variety :D (I was only limited by the combined constraint of budget and needing a 4matic).

I envy you all!

what brakes are you going with since you sound like you are going to do an upgrade or just replacing stock parts?

AMG calipers don't just bolt right up to 4matics.

I think racingbrake makes the compatible hardware to make it work.

There was a member on here (w211 wagon) with the 6pot calipers installed.

Stock replacement upgrade (using existing stock OE 4 pot calipers:

http://www.racingbrake.com/Two-piece...ONT-p/2255.htm

Parts are in stock for prompt shipment.

If you wish to upgrade to C63 6 pot calipers, you will need an adaptor and compatible rotor sizes, 360mm (18" wheels) or 390mm (19" wheels)

Replace your stock rotors to RB two piece rotors or further upgrade to 6 pot calipers and say goodby to the warping rotors and end your trouble & frustration in dealing/arguing with MB dealers.

Rear is 320x24 which is too small to make two piece rotors but we can build a rear BBK and upsize to 360mm with MB calipers or 390mm with RB calipers.

RB offers more brake upgrade/replacement for MM than all the competitions combined, and all fitment and performance carry a complete satisfaction, and money back guarantee.

I'm skipping this for the moment. It was bad info and for my driving style and needs, the brakes are a cosmetic upgrade. Rotor cost make this less desirable.

Thank you for the information.
