2012 E63 5.5 TT or E63S which is better to hot up ?
Love my E55, but it is starting to get a little old.
Looking to plan my next car. will be the 2012 ( or so ) E63 , 5.5 TT model.
this is the E63 or the higher power E63 S with over 400 kw.
What is the difference in these models ? is it just a tune ? or other things ?
Either model I will be doing a tune and dump pipes and whatever else it needs.
basically trying to work out if it is worth saving some $$ and get the base E63, and use the money for the hot up bits, or is the S model a better base to do the mods, and will nett a better result.
I drove a friends CLS 63S and even if I got the S i will have to hot it up. Can't have it slower than my current E55
Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

11's and 12+ are very different. The 11 is still the N/A motor and definitely will not net you the best results for performance. It's still a great car, but besides an exhaust and tune, you're fairly limited on bolt on parts. If I didn't get such a great deal on mine, I would have gone with a 12+ 5.5L biturbo. But nothing beats the bark of the N/A exhaust note..

I am not interested in the N/A 6.3... unless it has been boosted !!
the later models with the better cooling sounds good, but may be something I will do anyway, ie may not be worth paying many thousands $$ more for the later model if I can do those mods for a few hundred.
I do agree the later models do look better, but also cost much more.

I'd go for the 2011-2012 E63 5.5 TT aswell. This thing is a beast. Tune + downpipe and BAM you're done.
