Odd - False open hood warning???

Odd - False open hood warning???
Anyone experience this....with the car OFF, ever time I open the hood (to add washer fluid for example) and then shut the hood and go to start the car the hood warning comes on even thought the hood is shut.
I tested this numerous times and every time it does this... anyone experience that? Not a serious issue of course but annoying and can be normal. I have to take it back to the dealer to fix this groaning sound I get when turning and will have them check that hood thing out too. I was gonna post this to the general E class boards but last time I did that I got some very lame answers and have more faith in what the AMG owners have to say.

Yes, I get the same. Goes away when I give the hood a healthy push to close. Probably a misaligned sensor, will have it looked at next service appt.

Each lock has a sensor so if you gently close the hood, one of the sensors may not get triggered correctly. In my case it's always the right hand side. I try to find the sweet spot between slamming and being too gentle. Most of the time I hit it ok.

I had the dealer check it out while in for servicing but they found nothing wrong with it, it just requires a firmer touch.

Happens to me almost every time i feed it the routine quart of oil.
I have had success lowering the hood gently until the latch engages, give it a little shaky-shaky then firmly pressing down on the emblem to get a good secure "thud".
