Here's my new (to me) 2014 E 63 S Sedan
Hi guys,
Was stalking this car back in September, but somebody bought it out from under me. Two months later, on Election Day, in a strange twist of fate, I bought it off of him (great price, I think). It has just been too busy to put this up with all of the travel lately.
2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S V8 BiTurbo 4Matic Sedan
Designo Diamond White
Black with Contrast Stitching/Silver Seat Belts
Titanium Finish 19" Staggered 10 Spoke Cast Wheels
Carbon Ceramic Disk Brakes
Parking Assistance Package
Driver Assistance Package
Panoramic Sunroof
Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
Carbon Fiber Exterior Trim
Wheel Locks
Trunk Luggage Net
9,000 miles
clean CarFax
certified pre-owned (warranty through March, 2019)
MSRP $124k
+$1k for some sort of windshield protection plan
I love the car! A monster on the highway and on the back roads, but also very easy to drive in the city/suburbs with all of the torque, cameras/sensors, AWD, and good fuel economy.
I love the Carbon Ceramic Braking System. Looks cool, never any brake dust, and holy $h1t does it stop. Let us hope they last as long as they say.
Drivers Assistance Package was an absolute necessity with traffic getting worse here by the month. Distronic Plus with Steering Assist is really amazing and makes long distance cruising, and more importantly, stop and go gridlock, very easy. Blind Spot, Collision Prevention, and Lane Keep Assist have all done their job already.
The H&K music system actually sounds pretty damn good. The interior is definitely a step up above my BMW in class, but is still sporty. I love the carbon fiber trim inside and out, but not sure I'd drop $10k on the three packages if I were ordering new. I never liked the Night Styling Package; to me it looks like someone took a black Sharpie to the base aluminum trim. Panoramic roof is very nice.
This car is just so fast. It's ridiculous. I am getting 22-24 mi/gal on road trips too. The cold start sounds very aggressive and this car definitely is keeping it real with the exhaust note, unlike BMW these days.
So far, the 7G Tronic SpeedShift MCT has been great. Not as fast and raw as the SMG III, but good enough. The "look and feel" quality of the shifter and the paddles are high.
Compared to my E60 M5, it is missing:
*HUD; but the gauges and displays are nice, and I don't really miss it.
*No active seat for passenger (????)
*No rear seat options- side airbags, manual side window sunshades, and heated seats; I understand that these were options though
*Folding side mirrors; I understand that this was added in 2015
*LED lights (though excellent on this car) are no better in practice than xenon HID; technically this is true from what I understand as well; don't believe the fan boy hype
I wanted a Wagon but this very nice Sedan will do. In fact it was one of the top 3-4 used Sedan examples that I found in the whole country over the last 9 months, and it was local. Thank you to many of you for your help with my research on this purchase!

Cool. if you take it there ask for Andrew he is the best, get him a case of IPA and tell him I mentioned his name as the best AMG tech I have dealt with.
Maybe we can meet one of the days. I am going to be in CA all next week but when I get back let's go and have a coffee

Yes, the original owner barely drove it (~8,000 miles). Second guy another ~1,000 miles over 2 months. I am up to ~13,000 miles within 3 months of ownership, and I was away an entire month of that period.

Congrats man. I'm local too! Might end up seeing you all at Redmond Exotics or something. I've definiltely seen an AMG contingent there.
