Why did you go 285 and not 295 in the rear? Any chance you can post some pictures of your set up?
Ideally, I'd like to go 255/35 and 295/30 for more sidewall. Check out this CLS63 with that set up: https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-tires/652767-fs-vossen-cv3-tires-cls-63-a.html Do you think that would work?

I'd love to, but I believe it would be way too tall of a tire. The stock tire is 25.9", and the 295/30 is a solid 27" tire. I ran a 295/25, and while it looked good, it has a ridiculously small sidewall. I wouldn't mind running it again, I just got a killer deal on the 285. I'll post pics of all of my tire setups when I get back to work. Out for lunch at the moment

ok, so here was the 285/25/20. looked terrible, rode terrible, would never run it again. removed these within like a week. also had 245/30 in the front at the time, hated it
Now here is the 295/25/20. A little better, would look awesome lowered on them. i will admit in some pics my suspension was sitting high because 3 people literally just got out of the back of the car. when it settled down (like the first pic) it looked better
And here is the 285/30/20 in a Continental ExtremeContact DWS06. Before the Michelins
This was the front being a 255, which i did not care for
And currently, as it sits, with a 265/30 in the front and a 285/30 in the rear, both Michelin PSS's
hope this helps

Up front, there is about a 1/2" long spot where dirt has been rubbed off of my strut. But the paint on the strut isn't damaged, and I never hear a single noise from inside. I may have just wiped it when I was changing some parts underneath the car, but even if it does rub, its extremely Minor and I'm not worried about it. I hit huge bumps daily (Louisiana roads) and have never heard any strange rubbing noises. The back is pretty close to the fender liner, but doesn't ever touch

i just spoke to 2 tire shops that deal in higher end cars and aftermarket wheels and both said the same thing for E63s wagon - would be same for sedan:
Front 245/35/20
Rear 275/30/20
I am currently running 255/30 and 285/25 (Vossen VFS1 9 and 10.5 rears) and said while those are a bit wider you are doing yourself a disservice on ride quality and potential to cracking/bending.
I currently have the Nitto INVO and will probably go with them again as I really like the look of the tread, perform well, are rather quiet (can't tell over the x-pipe at WOT)
Or just go back to Michellin or Bridgestone

you will probably end up with the same or less sidewall then a 25 even with a 30

I'm running (came with car) my set up is front and 10.5 in rear on 20 as well - lowered H&R up front links/star in rear
255/30 f (nitto invo - really like)
285/25 r
recommended by a high end tire shop locally
245/35 f
275/30 r
I do wonder if the new tire sizes for the 213 will fit though
265/35 f
295/30 r

Mercedes w212 E63 - 5.5 biturbo
Hi, how has this worked out for you please? I'm just ordering a set of twenties with Super Sports in the same size set up and have been nervous due to so many mixed opinions...
