I think the rear would have rubbing issues. Stock suspension but plan on lowering.

You would probable catch the outer edge on the rear tire.

I had 20x10.5 ET 35 on 295/30/20 rubber last summer, and it rubbed on stock suspension in S+. This will be close.

I'm never doing 20" wheels again, getting 19s for this summer.

I like that, it's very informative...but it doesn't actually tell you if it fits. Lol

Only MBs - the best or nothing
295/30-20 is more sidewall than stock 285/30-19, so ride would not be any harsher. So I'll second above question, why never 20s if one used same profile as stock's 19?

One would or at least shouldn't run same sidewall profile when upsizing the wheel as then the tire diameter is a inch larger.
285/30R19 = 25.78"
295/30R19 = 25.97" (+0.92%)
295/30R20 = 26.97" (+4.8%)

You need to lower the sidewall ratio every time you change wheel diameter.
295/25R20 = 25.81" (+0.29%)

Thanks for the lesson, but I know what needs to be done. My post, the one that you replied to for some reason, was regarding post #4 above.

No offense was intended and wasn't to call you out. I read that as someone could believe that they could run a 295/30R20 and wanted to point out that its not a good idea.

People have done it so trying to help others to not.

Well I do not understand how 295/30-20 was even fitable on W212 (if one would ask me, I would say zero chance of fitting), but that's not the purpose here. The question to poster #4 was and still is why "never 20s again" and my original post was also meant for poster #8 (the OP) as well that "harshness" could not have been the reason for "never 20s again" as explained above.

Edit: its possible and think likely that post #4 was a typo and 295/25-20 was meant instead of 295/30-20.

It is possible. Don't you think that even with a 295/25R20 on a 10.5" ET35 it would still rub, even on stock?

But back to OP's question, from what I've read, a 10.5" ET46 is pushing the limits though maybe doable for a sedan at stock height, but lowered it rubs sometimes. So doing an ET42 lowered with 305 will rub.

Agree with both above statements (in addition to rubbing rear will poke a lot), hence would like to hear from poster #4.

CLS has much more room to run wider wheels and wider tires with lower rear offsets that E, so to the OP - IMHO while front is fine, the rear will not work.

Thanks all the info. While I don't mind a bit of 'stance' I don't want any rubbing issues. I will continue my search
