Question Downpipes for E63S 4matic

Can anyone advise me as to which downpipes I should get? I already have k&n air filters and an AMR tune.

For the 4matic I would just get Rado DP's and call it a day.

We are now selling the Kooks downpipes for off road applications, no more RADO downpipes. These are a new design that eliminates the pesky exhaust donut, has a double step ex[anded design under the flange for better airflow and easier installation and we are selling them at a lower price too.

If you are looking for a set of downpipes for the E63 $wd then these are the ONLY ones worth considering.

Please PM me for any information on them.

Thanks-

I've installed two sets on my E63 and the AMS are MUCH easier to install and the quality is second to none. However, easier is a relative term. Two of the four bolts holding the DP's are incredibly difficult to get to and tighten properly regardless of the tools you have available. Ultimately, the Weistech DP's are the ideal solution but aren't worth the install cost unless you are replacing the turbos.

Craig -

Any CEL issues with the kooks downpipes? Mind sending me a PM w/ cost? This would be for a 2016 E63 Wagon.

Thanks!

Just my two cents, but the DP's were one of my best upgrades! I yanked the cats while I was in there and had everything re-tuned. Amazing.

You will need a tune or need to have cats to prevent a check engine light.

CKS has the best price by far and the quality is the same as with other places. The only thing I would recommend is getting them ceramic coded at a local shop for like 200-300 bucks... I paid 1200 bucks shipped to my house took about 2 weeks to get them

This is a good idea. I had mine titanium coated as the stock ones had the benefit of being double walled or had a heat shield. I paid about $300 to get them coated inside and out. Best physical mod I've done.

Are you still running stock exhaust Catback with resonator? If so how louder is it than stock ?

Hey guys , my car is stock now if I want to run Catless downspipes with stock catback and leave it stock power how do I go about getting a tune to get rid of the cel light.

Take the ECU off and mail it to a tuner! It's on top the engine and takes a few minutes to get out.

You may as well get a tune that gives you some extra power and turns off the check engine light. It will cost you the same regardless so you may as well get it fully tuned.

If you are interested in getting some pricing just send me a PM.

CKS downpipes are nice but by the look of their posted pic, it’s a true turboback pipe which if you have a AWD, engine needs to drop.

Especially if if you are not looking to get the max power gain, the “bridgepipe” back downpipe is good enough.

I would go for the FI or IPE(just released a version for E63S 4matic, these are much easier bolt onto the end of the bridge pipe. No engine drop and shop should be able to get it done in less than 3 hrs. Pipes around $1500

CEL will come on ones the cat are removed.
Option 1, connect mini cat but doesn’t always work
option 2, any tuner can tune the cat out and you get some extra HPs
option 3. Live with a CEL and enjoy the catless turbo spool sound

Hey Craig, I saw this older post about downpipes for w212 E63s. I tried the link given but it seems to not work anymore. Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Try Kooks SKU 42113100
https://kooksheaders.com/exhaust/dow...157-twin-turbo

I just got a box and it says '09-'16 E63 on it even though the website says to 2015:
