W212E6.3 Amg -wipers not working properly
Anybody else has this issue with the wipers on the E6.3 (W212)? If it rains they work OK for about 15-20 min and then I can see that they start shaking a little bit first and then more and more until they are shaking like crazy at which point they do not wipe anymore because they kind of jump on the windshield. I replaced the original blades with Bosch -they seemed to work better for a while , not anymore.
The dealer calibrated the arms and declared the wipers OK but that is because they try them for a few minutes - the problem starts after 20 minutes of driving.
I clean the windshield often with allmost everything Griot Garage has to offer and I clean the blades too with rubbing alcohol. Should I just give up? Today it was raining and at a traffic light I looked at the Mercedes Benz next to me -his wipers were even worse than mine.
Any input from you guys out there will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Don't worry, it's not a W212 specific issue...it's known as wiper judder...Google it
Mind you, I sound like I'm some kind of expert on the topic, my car has it too but I've not done anything about fixing it

Funnily enough, i've clayed my windscreen and i also use rain-x too.
It's odd, because the juddering happened after I changed wipers, which I bought new from my local MB dealer. I'm just in denial and refuse to change them out because they have the oem MB star on them and a cheaper Bosch variant wouldn't have that

Thank you all
I clayed the windshield too a number of times and also used the Bon Ami powder for polishing glass - did not help. The Bosch wipers seemed to work better than the OM from Mercedes (probably also made by Bosch). If the wipers are working fine for 15min. and then they di not work well should I assume that it is the blades when they warm up? The arms should be OK ...(if they are OK at the beginning they should be OK after 15 min) Could the wipers motor start acting up after 15min?
I was told never to use any kind of treatment on the Mercedes windshield because this is what is causing the "chattering of wiper blades".
I called Mercedes Benz of NA -told that they do not have any complains of wipers problems on my car and they made an appointment for me to take the car to the dealer which is going to be next week. Of course if they are not going to put a water hose on the car and run the wipers for 15-20 min. they are not going to see anything.
Thanks guys for taking the time to reply,
Dan

I spoke too soon
my wipers were chattering like crazy last night on way home
usint windshield fluids helps for like five minutes .... seems to lubricate and then back to the judder

Damn , I have this problem also , I don’t drive my car in the rain much but got caught a few times and noticed this gudder , I think the arms are just flimsy, thay feel like stamped out **** ! my 535 arms are built like tanks, Check out the quality from your other cars. This can be a possibility
