Electric Cutouts

Anyone have them? I have been looking at the QTP low profile ones. I really don't want to see them from the rear of the car... but worst case I'll paint them black. Let me know if you have done it.. thanks.

Some have done them behind the rear diff, where the exhaust makes a 90 degree turn on each side before heading to the mufflers

Yea that’s where I was going to put them, I was just hoping to see a pic from the rear to see if they are visible. My car is lowered too so it might be ok

Part number? Or what is the diameter of the exhaust pipe, if I know that I can at least call QTP? I figure it is the 2.25" but there are a couple options.....
My e63 isn't here yet, so I cannot get the info myself. If anyone has done this and remembers which QTP they ordered I would like to order mine now so I can put it on when my car gets here. Thanks

I have KenDig it on one of my other vehicles. It is the electronic version. I have a suspicion they are just QTPs. Everyone I know that has electronics have QTP. QTP is the ones known to not have as many problems as the many other off brands out there. The intense heat in that area can be a problem for electronics, so good insulation and quality manufacturing is a must for this set up. QTP has established that in the cut out field.

I would have QTP instead of KenDig it (although they have been flawless) if I would have researched further when purchasing for my other vehicle.
I don't know anyone with vacuum, it seems like old tech and more susceptible to heat, kinking etc, unless you get some crazy expensive set up.

I have the QTP LoPro's mounted the same place as fatalex. You'll absolutely love the car on cold starts. Picked up mine online for about $550 for the pair.

I opted for the remote control over the toggle switch & at just shy of a year the controller went out. Called QTP & they had me attempt to operate both cutouts with 12v power. Both units worked, so they sent me a new controller (under warranty) within a few days. They did say the controllers rarely go out.

Honestly, if I knew how good it sounded, I'd of welded a straight pipe in place of the mufflers & reconnected the OE tips. We rarely close the QTPs; now that the wife knows they're installed lol... it's her daily & I did everything on the down low, but accidentally left them open picking her up from work 1 day.
