Display options you didn't know exist
Besides the obvious changes like start/stop elimination or speed limiter cancellation, there's 2 pretty cool features I was able to get from some really nice person with software developing skills.
This one shows the remaining kilometers until empty, now with fuel tank liters left below.
The other feature is the "automatic" button in the AC control panel. Typically, when you select "automatic", the fan level or fan bars will go away. You don't know how high the fan turns, you can only guess by the sound of it.
I got the bars back when "automatic" is selected.
I thought those are pretty cool options to have. It takes a guy with SD and developing software skills.

The first one (fuel remaining) can be done by Star I believe and there is an OBD module available on eBay to do that also.
This is is the first I’ve heard of the fan speed display in auto. Nice.
So so are you going to share your source or you’re just here to brag?

The AC controls are fully modifiable with star diag using xentry. You can do lots of things such as switch from 5 fan speed settings to 7 and even have the ac automatically turn on defogging if moisture is detected on the windshield, though its kinda sensitive and goes full heat blast mode. I encourage everyone who is an enthusiast and does a majority of their own work to have a star diagnostic, otherwise you will have to pay some Russians to do it for you lol.

I've looked around in the past for the diagnostic setup, but it seems confusing as which hardware/software version. Is there a general consensus as to which vendor and setup is best. Need for a 2014 E63.
Thanks!

It is difficult to find a good quality setup, for the most part they are mediocre to low quality, and the question is always how long will they work. The hardware you want is a star c4, software if upgrade-able if you look in the right forums and then you have the steep learning curve. I am not aware of any vendors on here that sell it but personally I would take my chances, save some money and buy from china.
