locked out of car today, wtf

i drive them all, fast and hard
locked out of car today, wtf
so i usually keep my keys in my work bag, and put it in the rear seats.
end of the day, opened rear seat, put bag on seat , closed door, tried to open front door and it was locked all around .
the key batteries are new so couldnt be from that plus the door did open with the key being in my bag while i opened it
had to get aaa come and open the car because i dont susbscribe to mbrace
usually car wont let u lock key inside....
even when it locked it didnt do the horn signal as it does for usual locking

Obviously it was not design to do that. It happened to me a few years back and road side assistance had to open it. Its one of those freak accident that my dealer couldn't explain. It never happened again.
Edit: BTW, how it happened to me was my wife had her key fob in her purse in the front passenger seat while putting things in the trunk and accident hit the alarm trunk lock on the trunk instead of just closing the trunk and then the alarm activated with her purchase and key fob inside the car.

I would like to add. If this freak accident happens, have road side tow the car to the dealer and ask service look into how that is even possible( because it is not suppose to lock itself with the key fob still inside of the car. When it happened to me years back, road side used a jimmy to open the door and kind of bent the window frame and I had to get the dealer fix it because they messed it up.

he shimmied two square air bags, looked like bp cuff along the b pillar between the doors and on top of door and frame enough to have gap to take a malleable metal rod inside to reach door handle and open it....alarm blared and i was able to unlock the car from inside to get to my bag and disable it....
was pretty impressive at the same time scary as its not hard to get in the car at all.....im thinking of buying a set of tools just to have handy,
