Guys, thoughts on this? (Scratch ding dent)

A lovely thing to stumble across ...happened while car was parked ... people are classy bumper seems like it can be sprayed and blended and cleared but the rear quarter has subtle subtle linear ding |
Hard to tell, but seems to need a bit of respray. Sucks. Happened to me the other day. Parked at grocery store and someone hit when trying to park next to me. Daughter was in the car and told me immediately only to come out to see guy left. Surprisingly guy returned about 25 min later. Old guy. Both of your instances suck. I've had it happen to me twice on previous cars. I park way away from civilation when I drive the E63, but there's always that one idiot who still wants to park next to you.

Look for a good body shop. I had a 1” resprayed on my 211. I couldn’t tell the difference.

I had my palladium e550 done by a Benz certified shop that essentially did a flawless job and the repair was invisible ... I'll try them thanks guys |
Hate it when that happens. Sorry that it happened to you, but i can’t really see clearly from your photos of the damages. Keep in mind that once you report it to your insurance for claim/repairs, it’ll show up on carfax and well the car will depreciate more than our cars already have. Maybe have a reputable paintless dent removal and buff out the scratches will save you more down the rosd vs claim/depreciation/carfax? |

It's simply weird. Of course it's also selective memory. The times we park like that and there is NO car parked next to you, you instantaneously forget.... |

They are estimating $2600 ill pay $500 in deductible in three years when I get rid of this I'm not sure how much more I'll lose on this claim if on carfax particularly if I'm trading it in for a new one thoughts? |

No matter how long down the road when you either sell it privately or as a trade in, someone will knock off way more than your deductible as in maybe 2-3k. Best of luck, hate it when it happens and your not even at fault. |

So at this facility they do have a paint less dent removal guy and he said though he can make the dent better there is still a deep scratch not quite down to metal that will need to be filled or sprayed additionally the bumper has some depth to the scratch though it can be overhauled, for it to look perfect or "invisible" then I'll need to pay close to $2500. My thought is that either I pay this $2600 now or later on trade-in and What I CAN control in the future on a new car purchase is negotiation of the new car and to some degree negotiation of the used car value, so I'm thinking I just go through insurance take the Carfax hit and get this done perfectly thoughts? |

I have Allstate as well accident forgiveness so my rate won't go up on this. |

If I were buying the car and you explained the carfax with these pics I wouldn't have the slightest worry. It's when you don't know what happened that scares people the most. Also, having done all of my detailing over the years to my cars I am quite good at it and I can tell you that much of what you see will likely rub out. I am guess the black you see is paint transfer from the idiot that hit you and it will come off for sure. If I were you, I would try what S63 recommends and see how far you can get without paint work. Not sure a paintless dent removal guy can get that long crease out though. If you can get it minimized prior to deciding to proceed with the full paint repair you can take pictures then that will show how insignificant the carfax incident was. Additionally, In case you did not know, if you are really worried about the carfax you can always pay for the damage in full out of pocket. If you do this it will not show up on carfax. Unless somehow you have already reported this to your insurance company and they have documented it. Even in this instance, if they pay nothing they may drop it and not file the carfax. I am very particular and meticulous with my vehicles and I would first attempt some paint correction and buffing. I imagine most of that will come right out. Paint would be a last resort and even then I would have to think long and hard if painting would even be worth it.

Any high end detailing outfit in your area should be able to handle it.
