Recent 1/4 Mile trip
So went to the track for the first time and made quite a few runs.
Best runs were happening towards the end of the night as the night got cooler and as my gas tank light lit up. Had a lot of 11.9's, 11.8's and once I learned how to launch it properly, I got it down to 11.7's and 11.6's One thing that was consistent about the car is the trap speed. Always hovered around 121 mph! Best trap was 122.00 with 11.62. Now as far as launch technique, I did the following: 1) Traction control off. 2) Suspension setting is in Comfort mode 3) Put the car in S+ 4) Brake torqued to between 2K and 2.5K 5) All tires were pumped to 51 psi as recommended 6) Used Petro Canada 91 octane! Did not have any 94 around. Hoping to go back again and do more runs! Perhaps do runs with 94 octane and then mix it with MS109? 11.6 @ 122 is solid for stock what altitude and temp? mixing race fuel won't help unless you're tuned for it |

Iron Sheik My other question is why run such a high tire pressure for the 1/4 mile? What kind of tires do you have? It would be hard to get any sidewall flex on a launch where you need it most, making it just easier to spin the tires off the line or even 30-50 ft out. I know your cars are not as easy to launch, due to software, but I find running drag radials in the low 20 lb range gets the best 60 ft times for most. I run 50-52lbs for land speed events, but not the 1/4. Good luck moving forward, with cooler weather. |
32-35psi is good for hooking up and with a tune this is paramount |

I was not thinking about the tire pressure as I was excited to get there and just run the car! I did 30++ runs with a little break in between. This car kept trapping 121 mph consistently!! Run after run after run! Had the track for 4 hours with 5 other cars!! :naughty::naughty::naughty: The best times came later on as the night cooled off and as my tank got emptier to the point where I pulled an 11.7 at 111 mph! Car couldn't/wouldn't accelerate any more! Not to mention names or cars, but I will say that Eurocharged V6's (400/43) and 63's (5.5/4.0) haul ass!!!!! If I did not launch right against any of those cars, I was toast till the end and sometimes I wouldn't be able to pass them (400/43)! :mercy::slap: Iron Sheik |

Congrats on your runs, despite what others might say I think you'd pick up from running the MS109 over 91 without changing the tune. There is a significant gain in octane from 91 and MS109 is an oxgenated fuel, which force induced motors benefit from even more so. I know on my car the ECU adjusts fine and there is a noticeable gain, but maybe its different on your platform. I usually run the car all the way down to empty to get the highest amount of MS109 mixing with the 93 octane. I may be wrong for your car, but there is only one way to find out.:naughty: I realize if you start to look at other race fuels then tuning is required to see the benefits.

I will try running lower psi (around 30), run 94 instead of crappy 91, and then use MS109 near the end! Iron Sheik |
