Ask shardul about upd spacers and filters .... will give you some extra power at the wheels

Unless you have a tune the spacers w/ filters alone do not justify the price. You will have similar "gains" with k&n and replacing your stock tesa tape inlets with silicone ones.

I did aFe Dry Pro S air filters. Mainly did it because they are re-usable, don't require oiling, and supposedly offer a little better air flow.

So I read most of the thread on those spacers and filters and I must say it’s pretty interesting.
have you guys done the switch over? If so, did you notice any difference?

Checkout my thread on DIY UPD Intake Install and just ignore the parts specific to the UPD new parts if you are only interested in changing your stock filters. You can also follow it if you are simply swapping stock filters for reusable filters. And Obviously you can use it if you want to buy Shardul's UPD kit.
Btw, Not convinced that changing the cloth intake tubes to silicone will gain you any Hp. It will gain you reliability and seems to look better.

It would negate the hot turbulent air drawn in from the engine bay through the ill-fitting or damaged inlets which will not create gains but restore air-flow that may be lost which may translate to restoring the vehicle to its intended operating specs.

They are necessary if you want the engine bay to have the oem flush look. Recessed ECU kind of looks out of place and would annoy the hell out of me.

We would rather keep the low price point for the actual performance boost part of the kit then add the spacer and hike the price. if you wanted to keep the OEM look i dont think the red spacers are helping. if the spacer means $100 price difference to you then by all means...

Just to be clear to others, the spacers asked about here for raising the ECU that are used for the UPD may not be as good of a fit for this brand. The box spacers appear to be a bit shorter than the UPD box spacers/risers. Therefore the adjustment necessary to the ECU might be a bit less.
For what it's worth.

Per vrod, and as evidenced by my recent purchase, stand offs for the ecu ("risers") will run you about $40
shipped depending on the actual height change with this kit

After you disconnect the intake and exit tubes from the boxes and the electric connectors for the air mass meters, the boxes just pop straight up out of rubber grommets like the ECU does. Easy Peasy

Agreed. In my my DIY thread above for the UPD install you will see that I paid to have the red frames stripped and re anodized black (pictures in thread). It cost me about $80

BTW Guys,
I had a service setup for that engine ticking sound (that has since been postponed due to the rear end accident repairs) so to be on the safe side, I swapped the entire air intake and filters back to stock. Just in case. You never know what they might say caused the problem should it end up being serious.
The reason I am telling you all this, is because it only took me about 20 minutes and I wasn't really going for speed. So if you guys ever are worried about the dealer voiding warranty work, it's super easy to revert.

Best kit in the market.
https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...boost-kit.html
Couple of points to note
No jigsaw fitting spacers like other vendors.
Height of the spacers is higher than other vendors
Same OEM thread longer bolts are provided, rather than regular wood screws provided by other vendors
Filters made by Green filter USA are provided with the UPD kit.
Price point is also better after you factor in shipping and cost of filters offer by other vendors.

A couple of questions regarding the UPD kit:
(1) will an OEM paper filter work (if someone wants to run a stock filter) ?
(2) are the spacers being made in black and raw aluminum (other options than red)?
Thanks
