I’m a newbie to all this. Using the ODB tuning and buying a handheld programmer means I can at anytime plug it in and flip back to stock or the tune? Is there any hint or marker that it was tuned and returned to stock?

Any plants to sell the hand helds rather than rent them out? I actually just dropped my car off after work to have the ECU pulled to be mailed to you guys. I'm gonna have to call first thing to have it canceled. LOL
Also, what are the risks of a bricked ECU and is there any way to resolve this if that does happen?

It’s hard for me to get excited for technology that’s 10 years old and finally available for these cars but the whole point of OBD flashing would be the ability to switch between street/race gas tunes. Why is nobody asking these questions?

remind me again what’s the EC tune numbers for the M157 / 212 / 4matic ??? Think the EC numbers were right up there with AMS or Renntech but half the cost

So how identifiable is this tune by Mercedes dealers? If I revert back to stock with the obd does benz know any different?

Very cool the EC guys finally figured out this ODB tune option vs the dual ECU route many have opted for to due to warranty concerns.....

I can tell you first hand that my M156 tune flasher that I purchased from EC stopped flashing after a few times. I contacted EC a couple of times and even made a youtube video of the issue and emailed the link to them. In the end, they never replied. I ended up selling the car soon after so I dropped it. But, when I went to sell the car the ECU had smog issues and the dealer techs could not reset it. They put in a new ECU under warranty and the car was fine. But I would bet the ECU issue was related to the flashing. Fortunately dealer wasnt wise to it.
Seriousl guys,
Which ever method you use to tune your car, do it on a cloned ECU.

I have been thinking about eurocharged tune for sometime now..seeing it can be done via obd2 may just push me over the fence. What's the main difference between obd2 tuning vs actual taking the ecu out and doing things to it tune?
I'm interested in the stage 2 tune, where I need to change spark plugs and coils.

What gains would I see on a bone stock 2012 E63?
I'm new to this platform, so forgive my ignorance.
I actually already have a My Genius I use with my Mini Cooper. Can this be used for multiple cars or is it locked to one Vin?

This is awesome and I'm really happy to see the platform move forward but I think I'll hold off until those handhelds get made. I love my Stage 2 tune already and the possibility of making more power is alluring but, I'm not in a hurry. Thank you Eurocharged for still giving this platform life and attention.

This is a step in the right direction, but to be able to do this on a personal handheld so the customer isn't using EC equipment and sending it back and forth is where the game changer comes into play. But this is a good start.
Those concerned with MB and detection you really need to just grab a second ECU and use that as a "tune" ECU and leave your stock one 100% untouched. It's case by case and depends on what is wrong with you car, but if you blow up and MB wants to know why that ECU is going to Germany and they will find that the car has been tuned. But if you're just going for regular service / maintenance they aren't going to be doing that. Essentially I only see them doing it if you blow a motor/tranny and want it covered under warranty. Regardless, running 2 ECU's is the way to go and pulling the ECU on a w212 is easy.

Exactly, it's certainly a step in the right direction and is convenient for people who can't be without a car at all, don't want to ship their ECU, or are too far to drive. However, it still isn't as convenient as say the M156 tunes on MyGenius' that you can just swap through basically on the fly. But still, it's good work seeing as I don't think any other tuner can offer this and it seems as though they are working towards being compatible with personalized handhelds so you aren't dropping $2k+ deposits, shipping equipment all over the place, and god only knows what happens when more people order tunes this way than they have equipment so each additional person is stuck waiting for the guy before them to get the equipment, tune it, send it back, etc.

Ebay has them pretty regular. Make sure the Large numbers match and you should be good to go. The price ranges from $600 - $250. I have managed to buy on the low end of that. Any Mercedes with and M157 engine appears to have a compatible ECU. Not sure if it matters regarding 4matic or RWD.
