The lack of gains are both software and tuner related. The software encryption is too difficult for tuners to crack so they cant access everything and are limited in what they can actually do. The only thing significantly better in the Audi drivetrain is the transmission. AMG insists on building its own transmissions as if they can do it better than dedicated transmission builders.

Thanks! The E63 is definitely better from a roll than it is in the standing 1/4mile. It only runs low 11s but can keep up with a high 10 second car from a roll. I used to think (and hear) that the E63 could beat or at least hang with the RS7 from a roll but after seeing my track results theres no way (when comparing cars with the same mods). My E63 averaged 125mph through the 1/4mile. The RS7 is 132+.and will get better with practice and if I can run in the same weather I ran the E.

7.2 for a tuned w212 amg is great but not sure for an apr stage 2 rs7.... probably has more in it?

also they run around 7-7.5s for 60-130 so it sounds about the same. Its just the launch that they perform poorly on, it seems.

I still think there is a good chance from a roll the W212 can keep up with RS7. Alot of them are trapping 127-128mph on tune/downpipes but as we know thats because of the torque limiters robbing it of power in the lower gears.

I always thought the 130mph+ traps were on race fuel. On pump fuel sith just a tune and downpipes, that is simply amazing. No other word for it.

Thing is, the trap speed would probably be even slightly higher if the RS7 launched like a W212 I think. As it stand's, the 128mph - 132mph trap tells me that from fourth gear (starting on a second gear roll) the RS7 will start to pull away.

On pump gas they are doing the 60-130 in around 7 second range, which you did, not sure if that was race gas or pump but either way, sounds close to me. RS7 may pull on a roll but even so i dont think by much.

Well, if both are stage 2 pump gas, or both stage 2 race gas im just saying from the roll, it should be close.

Get it to the track! Remember in the beginning when all the tuners promised us mid 10 second E63s on stage 2 only? Ill put money on it that one-off race fuel tunes is how they got their shop cars into the 10s while the rest of us were stuck with regular tunes running low 11s!
