Roughly at what mileage have you all been seeing rotor replacement?

This type of question has been the subject of many threads on this forum. Generally, there is no good answer to this question as driving style makes a huge difference on rotor life. I get a lot of miles out of my rotors from paddle shifting (engine braking) and smart driving. Like not racing from one green light to the next red light. I currently have 36k miles on my 2015 and according to the dealer my rotors still look good. I have seen other guys already replacing rotors by this point. I bought my 2011 with 31k miles on it and the dealer had just put on new rotors before I bought it. I put another 36k miles on her before I sold her and the rotors were still in great shape! Driving makes a HUGE difference.

I got 90k+ miles twice out of rotors on my old 2000 E55!

Thanks for the reply...I wasn't able to find those other threads you mention...I'm sure due to operator error.
Dealer replaced pads on my '15 500 miles before my purchase during 40k service (car is at 39.5k miles now) but did not address rotors. I assume that means they are OK for now, I just wonder for how long.

They're also way better quality and look way nicer.

If you wanna save more money can get girodisc fronts for like 1200 and oem rears for 400? or whatever it is

but i recommend for the looks and quality get front and back girodisc. I think i paid 2200 shipped.

Rears on the wagon were done at 90,000km. (56,000 mile.) Fronts on the wagon were done at 100,000kms. (62,000 mile.)

That traction control must cop a beating

Am also due for front/rear brakes and rotor/pad change....found these Brembo fronts and ZImmerman rears on FCP Euro today and Kyle confirms they are plug/play replace and 100% perfect fitment for w212 e63 4-matic (non-CCB) vehicles.

Anybody try these brembo fronts? They are 459/rotor and super cheap compared to the OEM front rotor at 900 each. These also come with the FCP lifetime replacement warranty - if the parts are no longer available in the future, they refund your original purchase which is amazing... I dont track my car, just drive hard high way miles at times so might give these a shot if they indeed are direct replacement from Brembo and Zimmerman and price is really good. curious if anyone has feedback on these...

The fronts are Brembo @ $459/each and rears are Zimmerman @ $102 each.

Can you confirm 100% that these can be used as direct replacement for OEM rotors on 15 W212 E63S sedan 4matic non-ceramic brakes?

Wanted to confirm since there's been a rare few times when I've ordered from FCP and a part shows as "IT FITS" for a specific MB model but is actually incorrect (i've experienced this with FCP parts on MB cars which were different for 4-matic models vs RWD which the FCP site for some reason doesnt always specify the 4-matic fitment only)..

Let me know as I've not seen any front rotor options with Brembo aside from the OEM which are 800+ per rotor. Thx J

This would be awesome if they work...looking at the part number other sites list this as for W211s rather than W212s...I dont know enough to tell you if theyll work.

Wont you please find out for us all?

Elverde - will do, am in dialog with FCP about that. The FCP site says that Front Rotor is a fit on 14/15 E63S 4matics via the link below, but to your point this part also shows as fit for the w211. will update shortly

I replaced my front and rear rotors just recently from fcpeuro. The front brembos are a very nice upgrade. The zimmermans on the rear fit well aswell. The only issue is neither manufacturer makes a left and right rotor set. So on the drivers side the vents/slots face the rear of the vehicle. On the passenger side they face the front.

elverde - thanks for the update so did you buy the same FCP front and rear rotors that i saw on their site?

I have a 15 E63S sedan 4maric. The P/N for the brembo front rotor they offer does not show as compatable when I run it through MB dealer sites like Genuinenercedesparts.com, as they say that’s only for the w111 E63. But FCP tells me it FITS and plug and play for my car....let me know if yours is a W212 e63 4matic and you were able to use these front Brembos.

The price of 450 plus the FCP lifetime free replacement makes this a no brained assuming they fit.

Akash - did you install on your 14 E63 (non-S) this Brembo front rotor from FCP? No issues with fitment or breaking performance vs the OEM stock rotors?

I paid $150 for Girodisc Magic pads and $108 each for Zimmerman rotors from FCP (which means I will never have to buy rear rotors again because they are warrantied for life).

nice so u used those FCP Zimmerman rear rotors with the magic pads on rears??? FCP has rear MB pads but they are around 300 (lifetime warranty, but still pricey )

I don't think that these are an upgrade (at least for one side). The veins in the rotor are directional in order to dissipate heat properly, so running a rotor on one side that was designed for the other side will not dissipate heat well. My $0.02.
